- This is the third episode of train and subway door closing announcements, beeps and chimes. I took all the videos myself as part of my travels. Included this time are New Jersey, London and other parts of the UK, Amtrak, Singapore, Denver, Miami, San Diego, New York City, San Juan, Florida, and Los Angeles.

It's amazing that someone took the time to make a 3min video of subway doors closing. I was looking for reference for animation, and this was perfect! This folks, is what Internet is made for!

2:12 That car type is the P3010, and it's used on all four light rail lines, not just the Green Line. The Green Line uses another type as well.
I didn't spend the time researching the Green Line trains properly. I wasn't expecting to have LA Metro but I had the opportunity to get the video on Saturday so it was a last minute addition.

I was thinking about that but they seem to have slowed down the refurbishment of the 1995 and 1996 stock. The other week I had a few 1996 stock still with the turquoise and 1995 with the yellow bars but they all had the door buttons removed and the landmark seat moquette.

The exact announcement/door chime in the Singapore MRT clip at 2:39 is also used on some of Melbourne, Australia’s ‘SmartBuses’.

It's quite unusual to hear it in America, but it's used quite a lot all around Europe
It's very often used in German trains. I think because these trains are made by the same company. Probably Bombardier.

The manufacturer of the door chimes is apparently French and are also used on trains around the world since I’ve also heard them in taiwan

The LA Metro definitely stands out to me here, although they’ve changed the voice announcement on some of their trains, but I’m not sure if it’s consistent across all of them.

For the next one, you should try and get the lirr door chimes for all four rolling stock, c3,m3,m7 and m9
I did not know they still have C3's around. I haven't seen one in years at NYP.
@@OltonHall there's a couple from penn on weekdays, 4:19 to port Jefferson 4:49 to port Jefferson. 5:09 to speonk, 6:16 to oyster bay, might be one more, you have better luck at Jamaica.

This same doors closing message and sound is also used on most of the metro bus fleet in Singapore but a lot of those same buses from Singapore are also used for suburban bus routes in Australian cities such as Melbourne for example where the buses here still have the same message but have different liveries and interior colours! :)

I dont have a favorite yet. I think of the older ding-dong in NYC to be iconic but that might because it was the first electronic one I've heard.

I hadn't realized MBTA got the Type 9. I guess I need to get that one before they change all the doors to bi-folds.
OltonHall there never going to change it back to fold doors. They added slide doors for easier entering and exiting the train.
