- Lucy Injured - NO SIGHTING of Milburn-Lucy in trouble with Chris.
EDIT 03/23 In response to several similar questions about Lucy's injuries - here's some info. Individual comments for these items will not be replied to.
1.She was not attacked by a coyote or cat. We figured out she got spooked (probably was asleep) by Beamer going out. When she took off, she slipped on the wet deck and crashed into the deck railing scraping her face.
2. Have you ever tried to doctor a deer? It's like herding cats. About the only way to doctor is when they can be treated with oral medication or darted. Anything you put on them topically (if you can hit the rigtht spot even) will very soon be licked off by them or another deer.
3. Milburn is still somewhere out on his own. We have not seen him.
4. It would not be safe to lock Lucy or any of the deer in the barn at night or when we are gone. There are too many things they could get hurt on. They would also hurt themself trying to get out.
5. Remember, although we dearly love Lucy and her little herd, they are still wild animals and live as such. We do a lot extra for them that has probably saved their lives more than once. Nature can sometimes be cruel. We don't want anything to happen to them but it is what it is!

You should put some cameras outside on the porch that you can look on your phone or with a tv monitor. That way if something comes near the house and you can see what is going on.
That’s a good idea & that way see if any critter bothering Lucy & family

not seeing anything moving in the yard. Looks like a minnee ghost town !! I don’t think I have ever seen

I know Chris and Jimmy will take very good care of Lucy. Some of the nicest people in the world.
Lucy is just like any other animal , you raised her from a fawn, saved her life, spend a lot of time with her and they will get a little jealous , it is in no way being naughty in my opinion .

So glad this video had a happy ending! I bet that dew covered deck gave her some trouble trying to get some traction when she was fleeing whatever spooked her. I also got a feeling they are rubbing up against anything they can find to help in getting the winter coat off since the temps are hitting 70-80 now. I always include Lucy and her herd in my nightly prayers right along with all of God's creations. May God Bless Everyone and have a safe weekend too! 🦌❤️🎣🙏🏼

If she will let you, take a Q-tip soaked in Betadine and dab it on the would. It works for cuts and scraps on animals & birds. Hope Lucy heals well! Take care.

Glad she’s ok. Sometimes one of our neighborhood deer will not show up so we just hope they moved on to another area. Crazy how you recognize those deer even recognize the small family groups. We love em.
Ya my deer family does the same, but we always find each other! I know their routine haunts & getaways, & they know where I live, they enjoy the property @ the church where I work as the Sexton, (about 1Km from home) & my Mom's house nearby..they are very well behaved & comfortable with their human friends, especially the ones who maintain bird feeders! I don't feed them, but they do help me w/yard trimming, I cut high, they chomp below & we face the hedgerows @ church.. I also mow the lawn which makes the clover more accessible..they love my outside jobs @ church! I love that they greet me when I come to work, we get to sit or walk together, & that they lighten the yard waste I have to lift!🥰
I hate all of you your the reason these deer die horrible deaths by cars bad humans ect any deer coming on my land is a dead deer food on the table not some fairy tale eveeyday
@@sparkablizzy9983 I'm sitting out in the rain @ 1 AM with my family of four wild whitetail. They don't accept handouts, they stop & cross suburban streets BEHIND stopped cars, they pause wait to cross calmly @ once under streetlights, and generally act a little more streetwise than the "wilder deer" that come in to town. Mine stick to me for dominance boost & security in their bedding areas.
What you said didn't make any sense. But it is true that lack of predation and the boost by the excess food in suburbs leads to overpopulation. That leads to accidents. I have avoided countless accidents w/deer by understanding their behavior patterns, & driving with my mind in THEIR perspective rather than barrelling down road.
I also spoke loudly like you before I learned more. People need to learn how to have respect for the world around them. A lot of people respect me, and I can walk with wildlife or nasty dredges of society the same, everything & everyone trusts me since I opened my eyes and perspectives wider. I hate that few people can sit w/the deer & I & just be @ peace.. I'm hoping someday you realize these deer you see are in a refuge area AWAY from other people & traffic. I trained my matriarchal group over 20 yrs how to appropriately engage with people & traffic, based upon that success, I think you could learn more faster @ be @ peace..meanwhile ,we eat the "tourists" to moderate the population.
So glad Lucy is okay! Her injuries are looking a lot better than at the beginning of this video. Bless her heart, she sure is resilient. I'm thinking she was still sore from her tumble and just didn't want the youngsters getting too close. Hopefully the social, sweet Lucy will be shining thru from now on. Awwww...it broke my heart to see Lucy with scrapes but happy that she is healing well. I think Lucy gets jealous when the kids come over because you and Jimmy are HER Mom and Dad.
