Guessing that’s ‘Merlin’? It is an incredible app and my friend found a Firecrest in local woods by using this app. The sound recognition is brilliant, the photo ID can be a bit unreliable depending on how clear your photo is.
@@johnluk : Yes, it is Merlin. I love the way it stores all different variations of each bird’s songs and calls. Haven’t got the hang of distinguishing between some of the brown/beige coloured birds yet as some of they tend to look similar. Getting there!

I first saw them while on my holiday in Ireland 2 years ago in county Clare.. I live in Holland, where these birds are rare. They were so beautiful and i could listen to their song for hours!
My phone app picked up this bird today. Gets quite addictive in the end. The app seems to find different birds every few days.
