Wow. I didn't know about the Land Between the Lakes. That's pretty cool that they've restored that area for Bison and Elk. I'll have to drive through it the next time I'm in the area
"Where'd you get your hair done?" 🤣🦬 Wild, had no clue bison and elk were in KY. Love those map turtles, especially a little guy like that. Gotta get out to KY sometime.
Haha heck yea man Kentucky is beautiful! It’s really cool being able to see those animals up close. Map turtles are very cool, my favorite are Barbours maps in Florida with their big heads.
I hadn’t heard of Land Between the Lakes before, but now I really wanna see it! That bison herd was really impressive, and the fact that it has such a large space to move around in and is left mostly alone makes me wonder what the ecosystem looks like there. With big megafauna around the ecosystem should have some of the characteristics of Pleistocene forests, that’s pretty awesome to me. Great work guys! - Harrison and Evan
Thanks guys! The LBL is a very cool place with a lot of land dedicated to conservation. The fishing in the lakes is pretty good as well 😀. We sat and watched that herd graze and interact with each other for a long time and they eventually crossed the road and disappeared and we didn’t see them again. That’s how much room they have to roam, if you go at the wrong time you can drive around for a while and not see a single thing. We appreciate you guys watching!
Went there today and it being peak elk rut they were loud, one bugled probably less than 6 feet from the vehicle. And there were elk everywhere, some in the pond to. We didn't see a single bison but that was fine because the elk were just coming out of the woodwork, literally.
That’s awesome 👏. I’ll have to visit at this time to catch all the elk. Glad you got to see animals. I know some visitors don’t see much due to poor timing. Thanks for commenting

Do it! Make sure to either go early morning or in the evening or you might not see any animals haha.

@NatureInYourFace on our first loop through we didn't see a thing but on our second loop everything just started coming alive.
Got some good video of it too but since it has some personal information, including my name I won't post it here.
Very cool.
What time was it when you saw the bisons?
Right before sunset is best. Like 715/730 in July
I did a herping and fishing video there its a great place
We’ll have to check that video out. Definitely a cool place to visit.
