I have had a pretty similar experience with the Boba Fett helmet (ESB). Got the first one when it came out. The weathering looks a bit goofy, exactly like silver marker. Was not too happy and tried to improve it. Did not look great. Now this same helmet got a new batch or something, and I snatched it up again. What a surprise! The weathering looks really good for what it is. I decided to customize my first Boba to match one of Mandalorian kits. And I agree, their Captain Rex helmet is superb, really enjoy this one.
Hey, Sandra! Thanks for stopping by, And yeah, I agree with you, I was able to pick up the Black Series Boba Fett helmet a couple years ago when the re-released it and was a bit let down by the weathering on that one as well. It seemed more like an urban camouflage pattern then real weathering for sure. If you go back in my video catalog, you can see the video I published regarding that helmet as well. And the Captain Rex helmet is by far their best example of weathering for sure. I appreciate you checking out the video!
Hey Paul! I would honestly like to see some sort of ranking from worst to best weathering on these helmets. Or mabey just a ranking video in general. Anyway,, keep the vids coming! 🔥
Thanks for the suggestion, Tabletop. I currently am in the process of moving to another state for the next couple months, but I think this is a great idea and will definitely look into that when I get everything unpacked and the new studio set up for sure!
You know it, Jaytee! I turned my last one into an Artillery Stormtrooper. I may just re-do the red on this one, weather it properly and have a nice looking Incinerator Trooper. We shall see!
Bought this and the artillery trooper helmet a few months ago and just opened them up. Confused and disappointed that this one has a matte finish. It looks weird sitting beside the artillery trooper or regular stormtrooper helmet. Not sure if I'm going to keep it.
I agree, Matt. They made some poor design decisions with this one and it really is sub-par. This one and the Artillery Trooper are two of their least impressive helmets. If you're into customizing, this one makes a great base to paint over and make your own trooper helmet. Otherwise, yeah, I don't think this is necessary for any helmet collection. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video.
Yeah out the box it's terrible but a little weathering and scratching up the red to look less like a child did it really brings it to life. Still, if I had to sell one of my helmets to make space it would be this one
Well said, RD. And that's exactly what I did with my first one of these. I painted it over with glossy yellow, weathered it nicely, and ended up with a cool Artillery Stormtrooper helmet. Now, Hasbro has since released theirs, but I like mine better! haha! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video.
