It's a gem channel ,I am from engineering background,I took psir as optional bought all books spent 12 hours a day to understand the sub finally I understood a bit ,later on found this channel will be using this channel to the maximum ❤❤❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳
Sir the way you teach is just marvellous 👍 I really thank you for putting so much efforts I would be really grateful if you make videos for 2nd year political science honours
inequality creates class cleavages(gap), feeling of deprivation, having been treated unfairly...all this undermine social capital, solidarity and fraternity
well, u hv picked up right point. equality of opportunity is formal equality which merely allow every individual equal opportunity to compete fairly...it believes in individual autonomy...individualism (unlike equality of outcome which is communitarian )...hence it undermines social solidarity...only if u consider formal equality of opportunity...NOT substantive...which is almost same as equality of outcome...if u feel more confused...no fault of yours...
Sir I have a query as u said state have less involvement in equality of opportunity & it is meaningless for poor people. how it can be possible ? coz state is the one who helps those lower class or poor background people to overcome from their situation by giving them resources in order to equalize them along with rich ones so that they both can start their race from same point don't u think in this way state is having interfarence ? Also it is kinda different from the formal equality (who believes in only equality before law but it doesn't go in depth) unlike equality of opportunity.
ok...there I was talking about formal equality of opportunity...in a sense negative equality...means No interference from the State ...opposite is equality of Outcome- positive equality, where State needs to intervene to provide free education, medical care, income transfers other social welfare. And yes, formal or negative equality (State not interfering or not discriminating on the basis on caste/creed/religion/sex, etc) is meaningless for poor for they are not capable to compete on equal footing with those who are privileged. However, this is not so simple. Equality of opportunity is a continuum...from formal to substantive...latter is much closer to equality of outcome. For having substantive equality of opportunity, State need to intervene and those are not meaningless to poor. Hope it makes sense...
Formal equality of opportunity is negative equality...means State/Govt provide equal chance to everyone to win race of life...to acquire property... it does not intervene to make the outcome equal...so who will hv more? those who r well off to begin with...so rich will become richer, poor poorer...
Sir starting me aap kahte h inequality in nature, men, society, and later Hobbs ki heading me likha h equally among men in nature ? I didn't get the point ... Kindly explain...
In view of Hobbs, on natural ability all men/women are almost equal, some may have stronger physically, others stronger mentally, in totality they are almost equal. But what I said is socio-economic inequality...men have unequal resources/properties even in state of nature...Hobbs said insatiable desire of power and resources lead to war of all against all in the state of nature
Funny how we NEVER hear about 50/50 discriminating quotas for:- * Garbo * Sewage workers * Mowing lawns * Landscaping * Plumbers * Electricians * Snake catchers * Night Petrol station attendant * Construction * Mining * road crews * IT/PC repair * Power pole repair #equality
because quota (affirmative action) is demanded for the jobs or ''primary goods'' linked to social recognition, self-dignity, and political power such as government jobs(bureaucracy), Legislature, and higher education. thanks and good wishes;

Sir, How does equality of opportunity undermines social solidarity and fraternity?
inequality creates class cleavages(gap), feeling of deprivation, having been treated unfairly...all this undermine social capital, solidarity and fraternity
@@POLSCHELP Got it Sir Thank you very much for the video.

@@POLSCHELP ok sir tysm for clearing my doubts 💜🙏
Caste reservation falls under which equality, opportunity or outcome?
outcome
Sir how does equality of opportunity allow economic inequality?
Formal equality of opportunity is negative equality...means State/Govt provide equal chance to everyone to win race of life...to acquire property... it does not intervene to make the outcome equal...so who will hv more? those who r well off to begin with...so rich will become richer, poor poorer...
