Can't wait for Matt to ignore all the cutscenes from kiwami (2) and then complain that the story is nonsensical.

Pat played the second game, so I'm sure he'll be able to keep him on track for the most part.

The combo of P5, Yakuza 0 and Sonic Mania _would_ have sold me a console if they were still in the business.

Do Omega Force have an A team/B team system where half the Koei Warriors games are grueling shite and the others are "Uh...yeah, sure, whatever"?

More or less, from what I understand
though its less grueling shit and more different game-play quirks.
All the anime games tend to share some basic mechanics and feel, for example, while Dynasty warriors and Samurai warriors tend to actually be rather different nowdays (with samurai actually having more effort put into it, it seems like, as it has the more refined and varied mechanics, actually playing very differently than the Dynasty series, as well as a LOT more effort put into its plot, characters and cutscenes)
EDIT: Going into detailed examples, if you are interested (not touching Warriors Orochi, as my memories of them are a bit faded, since its been forever since I played them, but remember them being closer to what I describe Samurai as)
Up until DW9 and its switch to open world bullshit, DW games where focusing on weapon switching (and a sort of rock paper scissors element) and having the 'musou' attacks be anime-ish finishers.
Samurai actually has each character have two diferent combo/combo types, one for movement and dealing with mooks and one for fighting officers, basically, as well as character specific special abilities and a slight focus on tactics by having free character switching during stages, the one you are not currently controlling becoming an NPC which I believe you can direct via orders (though that might have been a specific element of the version of 4 I played) and the 'musou' attacks are actually an auto combo that ends in a big finisher, instead of just the specialized anime-ish finisher.
Meanwhile the anime games tend to be focused on being stylish, often not even having a jump button and instead dedicating that to quick-dodges or character unique special abilities.
they usually have one or two gimmicks unique to them, though, be it arslan and its calvary charges or one piece and its team up stuff
In that, there is the gundam subset that has its own mechanics, though I am not as familiar with that series to point out all differences in the more modern games.
Berserk actually breaks the anime spin off trend by having its own unique systems, as well as jumping (if I recall correctly) and the AoT games just go completely off the mold with their own little thing.
Warriors all stars is just trash : )
joking aside, its closer to the anime games, being all style and no substance, at all, the closest it comes to actually having unique mechanics and such is something william can do.
Finally there are the nintendo crossovers, which, from my understanding, are a mix between Samurai Warriors and its polish and unique mechanics, with the style focus and gimmicks of the anime games.
