- This record is special to me because it was one of the very first records I ever received when I was only 6 years old from my grandmother. I played this record to death as a child hence all the scratches and pops in the recording. Hope you enjoy this relaxing record from my personal collection.

Until a few years ago there was an FM station an hours drive to the south of me (KNXR) that would often play music like this. In the evening hours, they re-aired John Doremus's Patterns in Music show. Enjoyed it much and your uploads bring much of this music back. Thank you.
Lawrence Welk... What a show. Entertainment for entertainments sake. I miss that today.

I have to say, i remember seeing Lawrence Welk on pbs in the 70s and 80s on Saturdays as a kid, but never really paid much attention. But this album is really good. I actually listen to the entire video. 👍🏼

Everyone's grandparents watched this guy on Sunday nights as I recall. Or was it Saturday? As a kid, it was hopelessly boring and dated, which is probably what they liked about it. Makes sense.
