I respect his views and think there's a lot of value in his book too.
However, realize that he's purposely being very charming. I'm referring to him using "Mother India", that you respected.
Realize when somebody, anybody, is feeding you "sweet talk".
Do not eat, or be influenced by "sweet talk".
It's a taught and developed skill-set to purposely induce a behavior, whether those reasons are selfish or not, or for positive or negative reasons.
Just "hold it in your hand", recognize somebody is "sweet talking" you, but don't "eat it".
This behavior of towards somebody "sweet talking" you, can also be used when somebody is critical and insulting you too.
It's best to not be influenced,
but to recognize that they are doing this, "hold it in your hand", but do not "eat it".
Continue to think clearly w/o the influential words.
Outside of his "Sweet talk" and charming words, he has outstanding views and wisdom that I greatly admire.
I watch most every interview he gives.
As expected, he's extremely (excessive in my opinion) charming in all of them, but he shares many outstanding views.

23:05 Not many people realize this achievement of India.
People know that India is the largest democracy, but don't immediately realize the struggle that goes in for a country so diverse, with such a large population, to manage and to pull off the "Democratic Experiment" successfully.
India showed the world Unity isn't necessarily born out of Uniformity.
Yes, there are problems and friction within communities at times, but these episodes neither last long nor become defining character of this great nation.
Irrespective of any classification (religious, regional, ethnic, racial, etc) an Indian is tagged with, most of Indians still consider "Being an Indian" is the one that reflects them the best.

Kevin was certainly a contender for the UN secretary general. Its certainly a miracle the world was saved from from that fate As a potentially catastrophic appointment to the top job in New York, Rudd possibly rates in the top five of disastorous near selections with Helen Clark, Shirley Williams, David Owen and Doc Evatt.

She didn't attack him, and allowed him to answer the questions without interruption, and with respect.

I gather that there's a forced mutual respect here because of the dire circumstances which being discussed could be dangerously imminent. The subjects are certainly defining our future our fate. This was a refreshingly sober interview on Wion of which is a rarity. Great interview due inpart to having an intellectual like Kevin Rudd keeping it sane.

A brilliant and incisive interview.Historical vision narrowed to the present.Kevin Rudd's responses were never borderline, and set the standards of a leader of substance For instance in reference to the Quad 1 failure to take off,Mr Rudd's response was brutal,he was not responsible, world leaders' including PM Manmohan Singh decided it (Quad) should not take off.Overall an interview that will stand out for the sheer substance in such a short duration, mainly because Palki Sharma Upadhyay and Kevin Rudd both, are in my opinion masters in their respective crafts, journalism and politics.
