Fun fact/Marvel Cinematic Universe connection: The orphanage St.Agnes that young Matt was put into is the same orphanage that Skye(now using different name, of course) from Agents of SHIELD was sent to when she was a kid. Of course, probably in different periods and they likely never met each other.
I did the math, they are 3 years apart so I think it is likely that they would have been there at the same time. since Matt was in that Orphanage since he was a kid.

Far from his appeareance here, he was slightly overweight, wore green suits, had a owl-like hairstyle and could fly! Well...sorta glide on air currents...
Stick is played by Scott Glenn who as mentioned was the American submarine commander in HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. He was also Clarice Sterling's boss in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and one of the astronauts in THE RIGHT STUFF. He also did a movie from 1982 where he played an american who learned how to be a ninja called THE CHALLENGE.

The first thing I remember him from is 'The Right Stuff', in which he played Alan Shepherd, the first American in space. Since then I've seen him in so many things I cheered when he first showed up in 'Daredevil'.

I think this was a setup for future Daredevil not necessarily a setup for Iron Fist. But Madame Gao was a setup for Iron Fist. Members are Stick - leader of The Chaste, and known for his use of the bow Stone - Stick is second in command, and can turn his body hard as stone with concentration. Shaft - Uses a bow and arrow Claw - Uses handheld metal blades (similar to Wolverine) in combat. Star - Uses shuriken Wing - Master of levitation Flame - Master of pyrokinesis Daredevil - you know what he can Elektra - you also know what she can. Sometimes she is a member of the Chaste but also sometimes of the Hand. Sometimes even both.
+k9commander I'm praying that Madame Gao is directly setting up Iron Fist, while the possible "war" that Stick and Stone is talking about could be about the mystical stuff coming in Iron Fist "potentially". I hope that Iron Fist show is about him coming back to NY after ten years in Kunlun (where Madame Gao is from).
Daredevil takes place after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD season 1, the events of SHIELDS fall to Hydra so SHIELD has a very good explanation for not dealing with Kingpin, also Kingpin is a crime lord, not a direct threat the Earth like Loki was.

He was a Mutant Owl Mob Boss since he does possess abilities like flight, enhanced strength and healing.
Stick was talking to Stone they are part of the Ninja Clan called "The Chaste" that are enemies of the other Ninja Clan called "The hand".
I am now realizing that when stick cut off that guys hand in this episode it was foreshadowing for defenders.
