Why does Novelkeys like plate mounted stabs? My first custom KB was a NK65. I'm on a KBD67 Lite now. I will never touch another KB that uses plate mounted stabs.
It is pcb mount compatible... It’s just coming with plate mount stab in the basekit. You can buy pcb mount durock stab to replace it.

Imo tangies slightly smoother but its also more higher pitched than alpacas so its up to you
It's the same switch, just a different color and (maybe) spring weight.
@@Fran-lf2hp this is case for most JWKs but there are some that use different materials. In this case the tangies are full uhwmpe while alpacas are the typical jwks with PC top and nylon bottom. They do use the same mold though.
@@fineresolve1540 ^^^ what this guy said. alpacas and tangies are not the same please stop spreading that misconception. lavender switches are also different from normal jwk switches since they have a different sound profile, feel, and material. overall, the deepest would be the lavs and the clackiest would be the tangies, but the tangies are the smoothest

Is this layout called something specifically? It has an F13, but 7 bottom row keys instead of 8.
tsangan bottom row with 7u space bar for better symmetry
As far as i can tell F13 is no more than (or at least commonly used nowadays as) a macro, and a 7u spacebar/Tsangan layout is usually for someone who doesn’t really need a lot of bottom keys and/or use it for aesthetic reason
Het I have a question what switches would you recommend that are good and cheap. Love the streams keep it up.
best imo are gat yellows, when lubed they're lighter than gat inks but still produce an amazing thock. they were my first switch and set the bar really high for me.

@@mikeybroe1 yes thanks for specifying, milky tops are goated tbh so cheap yet so nice. I would recommend just buying some krytox g205 grade zero and applying it yourself, it will end up sounding amazing and be buttery smooth
