Many thanks for this. Could you please share the dimensions you use for your full page images? That would be great.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm just seeing your comment. Atticus actually has a tool to help you determine the dimensions you'll need. You can find it here: www.atticus.io/calculate-image-size-for-print-and-ebooks/

Very helpful Elle, thank you! I am considering Atticus for a project that involves creating workbook style books, i.e. graded reader books, with some images, and glossaries in the margins, in both book format (so only text) and ebook format (I would like to embed audio if possible). Can Atticus do these things?

No. I don't think it can do text in the margins and embedded audio. You might try Kindle Kids Creator... if it's still around.

Do I have to add one chapter at a time?

Did you create your title page in Canva?

My apologies for missing your comments. I initially made the title page in Word, but then I recreated it in Photoshop and edited it there. I'll try to remember to create a tutorial on that. I wish they would offer more formatting options for the title pages right in Atticus.

I noticed that for the Title page and Copyright page, you created an image and discarded the versions already in Atticus. Could you explain why this was done? Are you preserving the fonts and layout you want? And how do these pages look in an ebook?

Yes. I was doing so for the fonts and layout I wanted. Very limited fonts in Atticus at this point, but they're looking to change that. They look good in the ebook.

Am I supposed to go through my word and set up all the headers and footers to import it into Atticus? That's why I purchased Atticus. So I don't have to do that

No. Atticus will put your headers and footers in for you (the author name on the top of the page and the title of the book across from it, as well as the page numbers). You only need to choose the option you want on the formatting tab. You do need to make sure your chapter titles are either in a larger font or formatted as headings in Word or whatever other program your using. If they aren't formatted differently from the other text there is no way for Atticus to recognize the titles of your chapters.

Followed these instructions to the letter and all I got on Amazon was a totally scrambled ebook.

You Don;t show where same, export button is to save work. I think I understood a lot of what you said and did till there. Then I lost you. I would hate to do all that and have to start over again because I didn’t know how to export and save. I never saw how to upload book cover. Does this program not have a book cover?
