I’m getting a mega weeks in smoke grey and original Techo which is an A6 in Japanese. I’m no longer fluent in Japanese, but what’s funny to me is that all my main planners are in Japanese. If I can find my Jibun Techo from 2016 I will send you pic. It’s in kanji.
The Japanese version of the noodles page is a list of recommended noodles from each prefecture in Japan so it’s a little different to the explanation page in the English version. They asked Hobonichi users to recommend noodles you should eat if you visit that prefecture, which is a very Japanese thing haha. Each prefecture is famous for some kind of food and a lot of people like to visit places specifically to try that place’s famous food. Also, the pages you referred to as the pages that had the solar terms information is actually for traditional Japanese seasons, the page has an explanation of when each season is and what is entails. I’ve found it to be quite interesting to learn about. The next page (the one next to the page you thought was the address page) is an emergency kit list. Basically things you should have ready in case of an emergency, since Japan has a lot of natural disasters. Most people in Japan have an emergency kit prepared in case of such an event and this page has a list of things you should put in it. The page you thought was the address page is actually for emergencies too, it has a place to write important info like your nearest evacuation location, emergency contacts, important info like allergies etc, that you would need in an emergency. As well as emergency services phone numbers which are at the bottom of the page. The next page is the Japanese to Western years conversion table plus the age you’d be in that year. It also has the Chinese zodiac signs too. The next one is just conversion tables, for length, weight, etc. At the end just before the personal info page is an addresses page. Hopefully all of that was useful, I never see anyone mention what these pages are and as someone living in Japan, I figure I could share :)

I love love love the Through the Purple Night Weeks and the pencil board! So happy you managed to get the one you wanted after all the stress of Hobonichi Disaster Night. I was tempted by it but for the first time since 2016 I'm not planning on getting a Weeks for 2025. I used to use it as my EDC but I've switched to a Midori Hibino. Famous last words though - knowing me I will probably end up ordering a Weeks before November lol. Great haul; thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you!! I would love to have a large print of the purple weeks art. I'd be happy to put it on my wall haha. The Midori Hibino always intrigues me! I love the idea of a small book with like 700pgs haha
@@mydandeliondiaries I'm testing out the Hibino this year as my EDC and I love it! I bought it for something else which didn't work out and I was sad that it went into my planner graveyard. I was using a vertical Sterling Ink Weeks as my EDC but around June I had a brainwave and decided to try the Hibino. I've been in it since July and it's fantastic! Enough room for everything and so adorable and chunky! I use it as a wallet too and it's very portable.
Ahhh... That was satisfying! 😂 Thanks for sharing your haul. I got a few things from Hobonichi. I'm most excited about the flower washi tape and the blank notebooks (I got one of each size -- I was curious about the lined notebooks too, but I still have a few grid notebooks in both sizes, so I didn't get them this year). Besides planner/notebook stuff, I did splurge on an early birthday present from Hobonichi, but it hasn't shipped yet. And I'm waiting on a few things from Yoseka. I got the same freebie notebook as you -- perfect as we enter the Halloween season! 🦇
I loved to see you Hobonichi haul! I am still waiting on mine. It is supposed to come sometime this week. Very exciting!!I loved seeing all of the items you bought. I was especially intrigued by the lined Hobonichi notebooks. I didn’t know those existed! Those are are on list to buy next! I love to write every day in a journal and a journal with Tomoe River paper is chef’s kiss!!!❤. Thank you for such a great video! I really learned a lot!!❤❤❤
I believe the day we get our Hobonichi orders is better than Christmas, LOL. I haven't seen anyone order the fish scale Weeks... I ordered one and the fabric is breathtaking!!! Using it as a garden planner, wonder where I got that idea 😁Switching from the A5 HON to an A6 size, I think I'll like it better. Also got the weeks supplement.
I thought the fabric of the fish scale weeks was lovely, but I don't think I could handle bright yellow for a whole year. It reminds me a lot of a character from the Demon Slayer anime hehe
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kisluxs leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
That’s a great haul! Thank you for the very comprehensive unboxing. I am new to the brand and so it was great to see so much detail on all your items. I bought locally in the UK so missed the pen….. but I am loving what I got and will probably have another order before the end of the year. 💜👍😀
Ohhhh why didn't I watch your Video earlier ❤😊 thank you so so much for sharing 😊 my order from October first is hopefully arriving on Wednesday so the waiting is almost over 😊
such an awesome video, thank you! Decided I'll wait till my stuff arrives before rethinking all my choices 😅. The pistachio is such a good color! I got the Denali weeks but that is tempting!
Ooh, you got the Pistachio Weeks! My orders are arriving just today (odd considering Manila’s just 4 hours away from Japan! 😅). Anyway, I got the Japanese Unsodo Weeks and A6 Rainbow HON in English, plus some accessories. The Bow & Tie series this year was kinda a miss for me-just bought the Sushi Weeks for my best friend. Thanks for sharing! Your Hobonichi unboxing’s always the one I look out for. 💖
Such a good unboxing! 🎉 thank you. I just love how everyone’s hobonichi tastes are so different. I too LOVED the pistachio cover. I ordered it from Jet Pens when I couldn’t get my order in on the Hobo site. I later got my Hobo order in and the cute Yumi Kitagishi weeks and canceled my Jet Pens order. I am still thinking about the Pistachio though. So cute! Side note I am trying to track down Hobo pens from 2019 and 2020. I am happy to send you money if you happen to have them and willing to part with them. 😊
Thank you for watching!! The Yumi Kitagishi weeks was adorable 💝 I sadly don't have the 2019 or 2020 pens 🙁 I didn't order direct from Hobonichi then. Best of luck in your search for them!
@@mydandeliondiaries I’ll respond back to you when I have posted mine because i had no idea about all the TS stuff as well! I’ll try a little harder on my next video so i can share it with you :)
@@mydandeliondiaries I just uploaded my haul! i got the TS leather case (a6) and the ness' bike a5 if you're curious I show it in the sunlight. Soo happy yayy
I’m pretty sure the one divider in the stappo is removable/adjustable and then you can fit the cousin in sideways. I thought about getting the darker plaid one, but I wanted to put knitting stuff in there too and I don’t think it’s big enough for both lol
That is good to know!! I think it would work well for knitting stuff, but maybe not both planner and knitting stuff. (also may depend on how long your knitting needles are)
Particularly love the stamps and postcards, I’ve never seen those before. The notched line would also allow vertical lines to line up, glad you showed that
I love this video! I look forward to your setup videos. They are my go-to for inspiration when setting up mine. I picked up the Stappo too, as well as some notebooks, Cousin, A6 Hon, and a Weeks. Plus, some other things I'm sure i forgot. I wanted to meet the shipping threshold 😊. My order is on the way. I'm thinking of trying an A6 SI notebook in one of the Hobonichi covers (I also got the Olive grove). What do think? Have you tried that before?
Thank you Aubrey! I'm glad you got the Stappo, I have been loving mine! For the A6 cover, the SI notebooks do fit! The chunky 520pg ones are bit snug, but they do fit :)
I just ordered my hobonichi mega weeks in that beautiful chartreuse color and I also ordered my hobonichiTecho Cousin😁. Can’t wait to get it. They never disappoint me.
We bought a lot of the same items. The notebooks were calling me and I am team Denali this year. I am in my blue era of my life. I also bought the papers and stamps 😂
I'm waiting for my Denali A5 graph notebook and paddington stickers + pencil boards in all sizes 💛 I've been enjoying daily journaling in the A5 graph notebook (keiko shibata cover) and that's why no techo for me for 2025. I would definitely order the a6 keiko shibata and a6 denali when I save some more money, such great quality notebooks. 💛💛💛
Great haul. The only thing I want to buy is the Danali cover. I’m going to redate my Weeks for next year. Not a fan of the Sanzen paper so I’m opting out of buying for the first time in 3 years. TFS!
So the memo pad in the "a6" compatible size does actually have perforated pages, though the other sizes of memo pads are not perforated. That's what those little arrows are indicating. I actually thought the opposite for a while because I got the "a6" size set first, and assumed all sizes were perforated, only to find out much later that the other sizes are different! (Also the grid size in the weekly supplement is actually very slightly smaller than 3.7mm, if you have any of the Hobonichi stencils with the grid background it becomes unfortunately clear if you try to line anything up perfectly 😭)
Thank you for sharing!! I have never tried to take pages out of the memo books before, but it is nice to know that it is a possibility. Also, great to know about the grid in the A6 weekly supplement too!
Fellow Texan and my order arrived late today too! I got the same 2 freebie notebooks. What are the chances both of them are the same?! Not mad about it because it's pinky and cute.
They do great on the tomoe river paper! I haven't experienced any bleed through, and the ghosting is the same as using other pens and stamps that behave on the TRP paper. Love the portability of them and their compact size.
Thanks for keeping company on my commute to work! I also got some of the Denali items and also the Stoppel and the lined notebook so I’m excited about trying those this year. Voice to text while driving ignore spelling ha ha Have fun!
Wow I made my order and never knew there were memo pads and the papers etc! I just got 2 weeklys and pencil boards and some grid notebooks and called it a day. Now I’m tempted ahha
What do you plan to do with the postcards? I have a lot of postcards from museums because those are my fav museum merch but I don’t really have a use for them. Trying to use them out as a time tracker with a to do list and then pasting it into my cousin when I’m done for the day, but I have honestly a lot of notebooks that can do that haha
I love to use the post cards to decorate my covers! I usually glue them in, but some else suggested slipping them behind a clear cover on cover and changing them out throughout the year :)
I settled on just the HON A5 in the Paysanne Blossom (J) and the Through the Purple Night Weeks(E). Arrived on the 3rd! 😳🤯 I really did not even need the weeks this time but same as you it was too cute so I purchased it. I used yellow weeks for Health tracking in ‘24 the ease of it to take to the doctor so maybe that again (but maybe garden tracker). I used my Hon so thoroughly this year I realized I can track most everything in that now I just wish it had more back pages. (if midori made a hibino in A5 I would probably do that ) I am still in limbo about the Hon vs Cousin. (I just stuck to a black flair pen in the Hon and highlight with dot markers. No stickers but drew everyday etc. kept it plain and it kept me consistent) I usually get an A6 Techo planner too but did not for '25. Goal is to get to one planner but time will tell. Loved your haul! Trying not to have FOMO.
(Also the grid size in the weekly supplement is actually very slightly smaller than 3.7mm, if you have any of the Hobonichi stencils with the grid background it becomes unfortunately clear if you try to line anything up perfectly 😭) I also ordered the postcard set, for the exact same reason as you! I'm so excited to receive the artwork, my order has only just shipped, though. But I'm already tempted to order another postcard set - to actually sent to people 🤣
I don't know if the current pencil boards have them, but the older ones have a grid printed on them that could be used behind the blank pages of the new TRP notebooks.
I bought the Himitsu Stranger Postcard Set for the same reason. I will use them as a softer pencil board/blotter, if I can stomach getting ink on them.
What a fun haul. I asked a friend to go in on an order from the official store so I could get the Paddington items and she was nice enough to let me keep her pen which matches the Paddington A5 cover and other accessories perfectly. Do you know how you're using all your Weeks'z ?
I got the snake toys weeks because I was born in a year of the snake and also an a6 Techo, a6 original and one of the liberty fabrics covers. Just shipped so I haven’t received them yet. Great haul. Did they do away with the 365 day tracker at the end of the weeks?
The snake toy was so cute! I was tempted to get it but I wasn't sure I would love it for a whole year. You got a lot of beautiful books headed your way! The 365 is in the English ❤️️
I am so curious about the blank notebook. I want one to use as a travel journal but i don't know if the notebooks can take it if it becomes chonky from pasting things in. You had a clear cover on one of your old notebooks, where is that cover from?
I have one that is fluffed out with fountain pen ink swatches and it has held up great! (even got wet and is holding up nicely). The clear cover on the notebooks are by Midori! Their A6 and A5 clear covers fit the notebooks really well.
I am anxiously waiting for Sterling Ink to release her A-5 (as I THINK I am going into her Common Planner this year) however, I DID order on Hobonichi release day and got my cousin and folders and notebooks! I should have kept digging as I am now suffering FOMO on those stamps ❤
Hello! I’ve had a couple of Hobonichi Paper(s) in the past, and they’re not fountain pen-friendly at all, unfortunately. They’re not made of Tomoe River Paper, so they’re only ideal for ballpoints and gel pens. Hope this is useful!
Like the other reply stated, the papers are not fountain pen friendly :( they have a lot of bleed through and feathering. BUT they work great for sketches in ballpoint pen, gel pen, and pencils!
I decided not to go with the Cousin this year. I got an a A6 Hon in the Hiroko Kubota / Crescent Moon Delivery design (it’s so cute I’m OBSESSED) on and then two separate Weeks planners in Lemon Water and Sweet Purple. The A6 is going to be my daily journal, one Weeks is going to be for my personal/life planner and the second one is going to be my meal planning/meal prep/ fitness planner. I think I’m going to be happy not having to lug the Cousin around everywhere. My weekly planner can stay with me daily, my journal can stay by my bedside, and my meal/fitness planner can stay in my kitchen or at my desk.
Hi, I'm new to the planner community, and I've been watching tons of videos to hear everyone's different opinions (pros and cons) on Hobonichi and Sterling Ink planners. I ordered a Hobonichi Hon A5 and I've been considering ordering a common planner from Sterling Ink also, too, mostly to compare both products/companies. I know you've used both, my main question is, if you had to choose just one brand, which one would it be? I'm also a fountain pen user 😊 Sorry for the super long comment, and thank you in advance for your input.
Don't apologize for a long comment 🥰 I adore chatting about planners. If I was forced to pick one brand I would probably go with Hobonichi, because the brand holds a lot of memory for me and it is structured more like a notebook. However, if you prefer more bullet journaling, or you like to write more than one page a day Sterling Ink would be a great option! I personally think either brand of planner would be great for a fountain pen user ❤️️ just depends on how much structure you'd like.
I use my calendex in a few ways. For the weeks I like to use it for temperature/weather tracking or an exercise tracker. For the Cousin I usually do some type of habit tracking or important dates logging :) One year i did do an "index" of all the daily pages too.
@@mydandeliondiaries i hope so! i’ve received a pre shipping notice that my order will ship between the 9th and 11th so i’m keeping a very close eye on my email!!
There was a report of some quality control issues with the sanzen paper... Colors don't pop and feathering and bleeding etc (mostly cousin and 5 year) Were there any issues with your notebooks paper?
@@mydandeliondiaries do they have a sunday start option? I searched all across their site and couldn’t find any.. every single planer is “monday start”
I personally moved away from the cousin because the dark gre and Red rectangles for the weekends - drives me nuts but the quality of the notebook is excellent
The colors can be a bit distracting at times, I'm looking into the Journey Planner by Nisha Fernando designs as a possible option instead of the Cousin. However, I have to wait and see when she will have the 2025 books ready to ship.
I did get an email! It came a couple of days after I got the email too. I'm sure hobonichi is working round the clock to get orders out from launch day!
I wonder if the difference between the Japanese version vs the English. You mention the /english has more notes pages…. Maybe those are the extra pages the J version has. ❤😊
The thing with color covers and the cover on cover is that you can washi tape one of those fun postcards you got to the front of your cover and it doesn’t damage anything! 🩵 I love the color covers, but I didn’t pick anything up this year.

Thank you! Congrats on your first Hobonichi's!! The pen is nice, but so is supporting your local shops :)
Ohhhh why didn't I watch your Video earlier ❤😊 thank you so so much for sharing 😊 my order from October first is hopefully arriving on Wednesday so the waiting is almost over 😊
How exciting!! Happy Hobonichi day!
Fabulous haul!!! ❤
Thank you!! 😊
such an awesome video, thank you! Decided I'll wait till my stuff arrives before rethinking all my choices 😅. The pistachio is such a good color! I got the Denali weeks but that is tempting!
Thank you for watching!! The Denali weeks is GORGEOUS, after he opened it up I was "ooo"ing and "awe"ing over it hehe
Thank you for sharing!! The Rainbow HON is gorgeous ❤️️
Sadly I'm Canadian and can't afford the shipping for a Hobonichi, but glad you got many and showed them off. I've been eyeing them for a while.
I am so excited for my order, i'll share mine too but I mostly have leather goods (different from your haul!!)
I'm excited for you too!! I'd love to see more videos about their leather items :)
(also may depend on how long your knitting needles are)
Heard someone say the pen this year looks like ketchup and mustard and now I can't stop thinking of it 😂
McDonald’s lol
😂😂 Not the ketchup/mustard and McDonalds 😂
Particularly love the stamps and postcards, I’ve never seen those before. The notched line would also allow vertical lines to line up, glad you showed that
Yes! Thank you!
Yay! Love everything you got!
Thank you Tara!! ❤️️❤️️❤️️
I got the A5 Hon card stock version for 2025 - love your haul
Thank you!! I hope you love your HON!
Excited for you!
We bought a lot of the same items. The notebooks were calling me and I am team Denali this year. I am in my blue era of my life. I also bought the papers and stamps 😂
Our orders are siblings then hehe 🥰
Ohhh thank you so so much for this unboxing now I need to add a Stapo 😅😂❤ gonna place a second order soon so i have to add some things 😊
You are so welcome! I packed my Stappo with a bunch of stuff now and LOVE it, I like that it stands up so much!
Hey Danielle! Glad you got the Japanese version of the planner. I'll be sure to comment in Japanese for ya. 💜
ありがとう!
I might have purchased the 5-year box set just because of how cute all the set was🫣
I'm so tempted to go back and get it!! It is so adorable!
Love the video- TFS!
I like the yellow/orange pen - stands out and easy to find - I was thinking phantom of the opera as well
That pistachio weeks is gorgeous
I wish the Cousin Hon came in the same weeks colors
Maybe next year? It seems Hobonichi has really upped their lineup for HONs and Mega weeks this year!
I'm waiting for my Denali A5 graph notebook and paddington stickers + pencil boards in all sizes 💛
I've been enjoying daily journaling in the A5 graph notebook (keiko shibata cover) and that's why no techo for me for 2025.
I would definitely order the a6 keiko shibata and a6 denali when I save some more money, such great quality notebooks. 💛💛💛
Have fun!! I love the hobonichi notebooks :) They behave so well even after years of use!
Great haul. The only thing I want to buy is the Danali cover. I’m going to redate my Weeks for next year. Not a fan of the Sanzen paper so I’m opting out of buying for the first time in 3 years. TFS!
Thank you!! I hope you enjoy the little bit of the old TRP. I believe Wonderland 222 has their planners in the old TRP for 2025!
@@mydandeliondiaries yes!😃 I did do a preorder. I also collected some Aura Estelle undated planners so I should be set. Enjoy all of your goodies.😁
What are the chances?? Watching your video this morning ❤️️❤️️ Love what you got!!
Oh the pochitto stamps! Do they fare well on the hobonichi paper? Ghosting? Bleed through?
They do great on the tomoe river paper! I haven't experienced any bleed through, and the ghosting is the same as using other pens and stamps that behave on the TRP paper. Love the portability of them and their compact size.
Thanks for keeping company on my commute to work! I also got some of the Denali items and also the Stoppel and the lined notebook so I’m excited about trying those this year. Voice to text while driving ignore spelling ha ha Have fun!
That is awesome! I hope you had a great day at work :)
Thank you so much for watching and sharing! Your 2025 system sounds great :) I love using the weeks size planners for Health!

I actually thought the opposite for a while because I got the "a6" size set first, and assumed all sizes were perforated, only to find out much later that the other sizes are different!

I also ordered the postcard set, for the exact same reason as you! I'm so excited to receive the artwork, my order has only just shipped, though. But I'm already tempted to order another postcard set - to actually sent to people 🤣
Yay!! I'm so glad you ordered the post cards too :) I'm tempted to get another set too haha
I don't know if the current pencil boards have them, but the older ones have a grid printed on them that could be used behind the blank pages of the new TRP notebooks.
That is a great tip!! The plain Navy ones do have the grid, maybe someone could confirm if the new grey ones do too.
I'm currently watching TH-cam while journaling and laying down stickers to set up new journal pages.
I love this 🥰
I bought the Himitsu Stranger Postcard Set for the same reason. I will use them as a softer pencil board/blotter, if I can stomach getting ink on them.
I think getting ink on the back of the cards would be SO cool by the end. Like adding your own artwork to the artwork in a way :)
The goal I’m most excited to accomplish before the end of the year is to get caught up with Masterplan 365. I am just starting it now.
What a fun haul. I asked a friend to go in on an order from the official store so I could get the Paddington items and she was nice enough to let me keep her pen which matches the Paddington A5 cover and other accessories perfectly. Do you know how you're using all your Weeks'z ?
Thank you! How nice of your friend! ❤️️ I do know how I plan to use my weeks 😊 I'll be sharing all of that in a future video 😉
I got the snake toys weeks because I was born in a year of the snake and also an a6 Techo, a6 original and one of the liberty fabrics covers. Just shipped so I haven’t received them yet. Great haul. Did they do away with the 365 day tracker at the end of the weeks?
Ok I saw it at the end of the English version!
The A6 memo pads are perforated. I think that is the only size that is though.
Yes! Others have said the same :)
I am anxiously waiting for Sterling Ink to release her A-5 (as I THINK I am going into her Common Planner this year) however, I DID order on Hobonichi release day and got my cousin and folders and notebooks! I should have kept digging as I am now suffering FOMO on those stamps ❤
They offer some of the stamps on jet pens! I'm not sure of all the designs though.
Hi! Thank you for sharing! How did it go with the pen testing on the My Tiny Garden? Did you tested with fountain pen ink? Good performance?
I love the sound of your lineup so far! 🥰 I think you'll like the A6 for portability. I like to keep my meal/fitness planner in my kitchen too!
I'm also a fountain pen user 😊
Sorry for the super long comment, and thank you in advance for your input.
Are there coverd for the Hobonichi Graph Notebooks? Love this video!
The Hobonichi covers fit the notebooks 🙂 However clear covers by Hobonichi do not fit them. Clear covers by Midori do though!
@@mydandeliondiaries Thank you for the info!! 😊
I enjoyed your unboxing. Curious how you use your calendex?
I use my calendex in a few ways. For the weeks I like to use it for temperature/weather tracking or an exercise tracker. For the Cousin I usually do some type of habit tracking or important dates logging :) One year i did do an "index" of all the daily pages too.
ah i’m also in texas and ordered on the first mine still hasn’t shipped!
Hopefully you'll get your notice soon!!
I haven't tested my notebooks yet, but I did test all my planners and they were all just fine :)
I just wish they had more options for a Sunday start. The original is big for me, a weeks in a Sunday strat is literally what I need😕
Sterling Ink has an undated Weeks size option that has very similar layout to the Hobonichi.
@@mydandeliondiaries thanks, will research them
@@mydandeliondiaries do they have a sunday start option? I searched all across their site and couldn’t find any.. every single planer is “monday start”
Do the pens leak through the paper ? It seems very thin? I have ordered two planners
I have not experienced any bleed through on the paper :)
I have a6 memo books they are perforated
I personally moved away from the cousin because the dark gre and Red rectangles for the weekends - drives me nuts but the quality of the notebook is excellent
The colors can be a bit distracting at times, I'm looking into the Journey Planner by Nisha Fernando designs as a possible option instead of the Cousin. However, I have to wait and see when she will have the 2025 books ready to ship.
Did you get a shipping email? Or did it just show up? It’s crazy how fast people are getting their orders! I want mine! 😩😅
I did get an email! It came a couple of days after I got the email too. I'm sure hobonichi is working round the clock to get orders out from launch day!
I wonder if the difference between the Japanese version vs the English. You mention the /english has more notes pages…. Maybe those are the extra pages the J version has. ❤😊
I think you are correct!
I think the A6 notebook has some perforated pages….
Yes! There was another commenter who mentioned this as well ❤️️
Ok but how about that carrot cutter! 🥕
Hehehe it makes me feel fancy to cut with a carrot 😂 I got it from Stationery Pal a year or so ago.
Wow not happy I bought green sneaker weeks wish I hadnt it takes forever hasn’t even shipped yet and now I do t want it
Gennaro Crest
🎉❤
Overconsumption at its finest lol
The thing with color covers and the cover on cover is that you can washi tape one of those fun postcards you got to the front of your cover and it doesn’t damage anything! 🩵 I love the color covers, but I didn’t pick anything up this year.
Great idea!! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️️❤️️
Oh no, more reasons to buy more covers 😂
