- Welcome to my Eid al-Fitr 2019 vlog! I share my Eid preparation, show you how I made our Eid rainbow cake and share how we celebrated Eid.

Eid rainbow cake ingredients (will make 2 layers)
120g Butter, softened
120g Caster Sugar
120g Self-Raising Flour
2 Large Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract/Flavour
1 tablespoon Milk
Beat mixture and split evenly between 2 mixing bowls. Add food colouring of your choice, and repeat the process for however many layers you wish to make. I made, red, orange, yellow, green and blue layers.
Bake in 20cm cake tins, in preheated oven at 180C/160C Fan assisted/350F/Gas Mark 4 for 12-15 minutes or until cakes are firm. Allow to cool fully before applying buttercream.
Buttercream ingredients:
220g Butter, softened
250g Mascarpone (or full fat soft cheese/cream cheese)
700g Icing Sugar

Mmm Rainbow Cake, I haven't made it for years, maybe I am thinking to make for my Son's birthday next month. My birthday was on Eid (Wednesday for us) but obviously got overshadowed by Eid lol nevermind, had a good time with family and that's all that matters.
Shamsa you need to get yourself an offset spatula to make cake decorating easier! Only telling you because so do I, it makes spreading the icing much easier. Love your vlogs as always!

For the rainbow cake it’s best to use gel food colouring as you just need a little amount. The less food colouring you use in your cake the better it is for you.

In Eid day I dont cook at all . I have been cooking all Ramadan so Eid is relaxing day , we all went for meal in Restaurant.
