Handmade Winter Melon Tea/古早味冬瓜茶/とうがん茶/Wax Gourd Drink

I would like to introduce a natural drink called winter melon tea. This is a traditional drink in southern China. Wax Gourd is also well known as its name. The fully mature winter melon, its skin will have a layer of ash like frost. That is the reason it is named Winter Melon. Some countries call it ash melon.
The earliest record about the usage of winter melon as a medicine is in the ancient book of Chinese medicine Ming Yi Bie Lu published in Han Dynasty of China (184 C.E.- 220 C.E.).
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, winter melon is slightly cold in nature, so when we make this winter melon tea brick, we try to use brown sugar to balance the coldness of winter melon. I also added some rock sugar here to adjust the color of tea brick.
Winter Melon has magnificent weight loss effects. It helps to detoxify the body, eliminates excess toxins, salts, and water from the body. And helps to improve the skin. I hope you will also like its taste.

Normally in China, we say: four properties 四气
four Chinese Materia Medica properties: cold, cool, warm and hot (Winter melon is Slightly Cold, brown sugar is warm)
And one more is: neutral property 平性

No, not toxic at all. This melon is very popular in Asia. I use goggles and gloves to prevent the "lava", as the higher temperature makes them dancing here and there...
