I have a few cream colors that stay streaky no matter how much you hand shake them, and my brick of a mixer shakes them right up.

Hey kelly, great video. One nail polish girlie to another you should move the nail polish removers away from the power cords, or place them in a bin so if they spill in the rug when youre out it wont be a fire danger. ❤
I did buy a paint shaker from that online A store. It’s the best for mixing. I love the drawer system, however; it will drive me crazy not being able to see the colors dead on. My mood picks my manicure colors. Thanks for the inventory organized share.

My first nail polish was my dad's automotive touch up paint in GM Metalized Medium Blue. Car paint looks amazing on nails (don't forget the 2 coats of base!)
One of the best collections I seen. I enjoyed this video, your indie drawers are a dream 😊 I think I have the same amount of mooncat and bees knees as you 😆
As of now I have 185. My top was around 350 but my brain doesn’t like to have more than I can wear. I usually go through all of my polishes in a year to use them and that helps me let go of some. I want to keep it under 200 so I’m trying to be more picky. I store mine in an over the door shoe holder.
I use Lacquergram to catalog! I love having the visual and just being able to tap a button to add instead of having to catalog things manually. It's got a details and notes option as well for tracking specifics. Question about the drawers, since I'm about to build the Helmer drawers. If memory serves you didn't put in the drawer stopper to leave more room, right?
Thanks for the tour, Kelli! I love your collection! I very much enjoyed the breakdown of the brands. I'm at around 800 bottles after destashing several hundred. Now I can buy more! 😂 I have more mainstream than indies, and I would like to get a lot more indies. I'm working on it. Ha ha

I am surprised at how much I enjoyed the statistics portion of the video!!! Can't wait to see the cataloguing! I'd be interested in seeing how you decide what to set aside and what's about to be donated!
Honestly was considering making a pie chart for the stats but I wasn't sure if that interested anyone besides me LOL! It was fun to "compile" the data though!
Omg I am obsessed with having a nail polish spreadsheet. I have tons of formulas, automated formatting, and stats because spreadsheeting is a legit hobby of mine and I am ridiculous. I started off with the spreadsheet that Hillary from mediocre manis shared. Also Holo Taco fits PERFECTLY in Helmers if you store them with the box and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that because I just assume it was intentional. Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection!!!
Hi. Since you filled up drawers, what do you do if, say, you have a new OPI red? Where do you put it if the drawer is full? Sorry if this is a dumb question or if you mentioned this in the video.
Not a dumb question! I did mention it for a brief second in the video but it was easy to miss haha. I usually put new polishes in empty drawer spaces (so in that case it would be the overflow drawer in the second row) and that's why I always have to reorganize my polishes LOL because they end up getting totally out of order after a few months of new polishes!
I'm not a very organizy person, and what works for me is if I ask myself "where would I look for this first?" and then I put it there. If you'd look in the pink drawer for that medium coral shade, then you should put it there, where it makes sense to you. Then you'll always find what you're looking for.
That's a great way to think about it, and I think subconsciously that's how I organized too because some colors just "feel" like they belong in a certain group lol
I would use the rotating rack for ice cream nails. The bottles are cute and fun to look at. Or Nailpollies if you ever get any. Any decorative shaped bottles.
I have that same nail polish tower and I already filled it up 🤣😅 but I’m trying to track what polishes I’m using and which ones I’m not. I got some rubber bands meant for hair and put them on every single bottle. And then, later this year, I’ll see what ones still have the rubber band on it and depending on the quality I’ll give it to a family member.
That is a seriously smart idea on how to tell which polishes you've been wearing! I've heard a similar trick with clothing/hangers but I never thought to do it with polish haha!
@@KelliMarissa I’m a spreadsheet girlie 🤓 and I tried that last year and it just didn’t work because I kept forgetting to check off colors I wore 😅 taking the rubber band off is much easier to remember 🤣
This collection is MINDBLOWING! 🤯 The organization is amazing. I am currently in the process of organizing my polishes. I don't have nearly as many as you have but this video is giving me a ton of ideas! I noticed you didn't mention the brand Polished for Days and would love to see you do a review on them! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍💅
Tina, how do you store yours? Helmers? I use the plastic carrying cases for my 1800+ bottles, and I’m wondering if I’m the only one 😂 I’m guessing have about 40 of the cases that hold 48bottles. They are so east to move around and store, plus I can find exactly what I’m looking for since the plastic is clear.
@Diametricallyopposed00 I started out like you... all my 300 ish polishes were in those plastic cases, but in the end I caved in and got a Helmer and I'm very happy I did. Much prefer the Helmer now.
@@Diametricallyopposed00 I’m thinking I’ll need something like that. My collection is relatively small but I also have nail art tools & accessories that I need to Store as well.
"moving on down the rainbow" 😂 What a fantastic collection. I only have one OPI red😂 I have one Hemler unit and only 3 of the drawers hold polish. Funnily enough, one of the drawers are all Essie!
I can't imagine having that many polishes. I wouldn't know what to choose. I have a time deciding now and I only have about 75 lol. I bought organizers from Amazon that hold around 48 polishes. I like those because I can see them at a glance. I couldn't find your list of top 5 base and top coats. Was just curious. Im sure Orlys bonder base was 1 lol
How do you keep them from drying up/unmixing? You can't possibly wear them all regularly even if you changed every day... I find polish thickens 6 mos to a year after it's opened and it'a harder to paint on...
Hmm, nail polish shouldn't thicken, especially that quickly, are you closing your bottles tightly enough? I have some that are decades old and still apply great!
Aww I love this! I’m a total data nerd so I put all my nail polish info in excel by brand, color, finish etc. I only have ~150 polishes but it still took me a few hours!
Oooh my gosh I love your OPI Red drawer. They have the best reds ever! I have a lot of Mooncat and just started collecting other Indie brands like Bees Knees, Ethereal, KB Shimmer, Cadillacquer, Sassy Sauce, Alchemy, Monarch, Lumen, and one of my latest great finds is LynB designs. I find the Indie brands to be so unique and fun. Love love love your setup and organization! Thank you for sharing ❤
That is a huuugeee collection!!!! 😮😮😮 It is sooo fun to watch tho!!!! Also, I just started installing some acrylic shelves on my own and I’m very proud of it lol! I just really need to see what I have lol!!! 😂 but I know drawers are better to keep the polish in good condition. Thank you again Kelli for sharing with us!
The way you organized your collection really works. I see the purple nail polish remover in your bottles on the floor, and I was wondering if that is the Zoya remover?
I've actually just been using drugstore remover! The purple ones at the drugstore are usually the "strengthening" acetone which is my favorite. I have a mini bottle of the Zoya remover but lately it's been drying me out a lot, I'm thinking just the combo with the winter weather isn't playing nice with my skin haha!
It seems like OPI is the majority for everyone haha! I wonder if we all just started with them because they're so easily accessible/have so many color options!!
I didn’t know Essie changers their formula! I bought the Mint Candy Apple that everyone loves YEARS ago and I hated it. No matter what I did I got air bubbles. But I took a chance on Sugar Daddy a little while ago and LOVED it.
Uh, can I "like" this video about 100 times?!? I recently bought my first 2 Helmers [nope, not assembled yet] and I was really torn over 1 vs 2, Helmer vs Alex, try to reinforce the drawer floors [I still remember that unit you had that broke...but I did want to ask: was that a Helmer or was it actually a Melmer from Michaels??] or just take them as-is & not worry over the weight/drawer, etc. This video has finally given me the courage to get this project done, so thank you so so so much, Kelli! But seriously: which one broke, a Helmer or a Melmer? Modifying the drawers to make them stronger is proving to be quite challenging, so if you tell me it was one of your old Melmers, then I can move on and stop all this unnecessary fretting. Thanks so much!!
Fun fact. I have the same tower from Amazon and only put Holo Taco on it, and it just finally got full with their last collection. Lol The only ones I don't have on it are the glow in the dark and crackle polishes.
I used to have a nail polish spreadsheet! Not sure of your exact needs, but I included name/brand/short description/have i swatched it on IG?(plus a hyperlink to the post)/when did I wear it last?/how many coats does it need? ... I destashed most of my collection this past year and largely stopped buying so much, so the spreadsheet isn't really necessary to me anymore, but it helped A LOT while my collection was in the 1000-1500 realm! (Especially content-creation-wise!)
Wow, what a collection! I love the way you have them organized. Why don’t you have an empty row in each drawer for add- ins? Wouldn’t that be easier? Also, do you have your collabs displayed somewhere? If not, you definitely should! That’s something to be proud of. Thanks for the tour. Very exciting!
It definitely would have been smart to save room for new polishes LOL but I didn't even think about it when I was organizing! 🙈 I really would love to have a collab shelf, maybe I can put it up in the background!!
This was very satisfying. I love the idea of the Helmer as they can pull out all the way. I have a Winsome Drawer unit I got on Amazon. I love it besides the drawers don't come out all the way so it's hard to see the back of the drawer. I thought about going to a Helmer but I'd lose a lot of space. I can fit 140 Holo Taco in one drawer.
That was fun, seeing how you organized it. My collection is much smaller, but I still have way too many. My top drawer is top & base coats, some specialty top coats, magnetics, crackles and odd bottles from other brands. Second drawer is Orly, Sunful Color & Miracle gels from Sally Hansen. After is my China Glaze & OPI, then it's Essie, Color Club, Zoya and other square bottles. After is Revlon, other Sally Hansens & Wet n Wild. The last drawer is for duplicates, liner brush nail polish, and other minis. I use that space on the sides to store extra nail files or smaller polishes, like minis or stamping polishes. its not ideal, I'd rather get another Helmer, but I'm not allowed lol.
Wow Kelli, I can't imagine how long that took you to do all that, its really very interesting though, mine desperately need sorting I'll hopefully get it done soon and I'm only talking maybe 500 might have under estimated it but around there, a great watch though, really interesting to get into all the detail, I always enjoy watching everything you do puts a smile on my face which is always welcome, thanks Kelli, always appreciated ❤xxx
The organizing process was a lot but what really helped me speed through it was having an audiobook to listen to while I organized haha! I felt so productive and I got a whole book done too! 😋❤️
Your collection is so satisfying, I love watching these kind of videos! If you rotated the Mooncat bottles by 90 degrees, would they then fill all the way across the width of the drawer?
It's not a perfect fit but I can comfortably fit six across that way! I just like having them sideways because they're so thin that the lip of the drawer would cover the first row if I had them the other way haha 😅
@@KelliMarissa Ah fair enough, that makes total sense! Thank you for answering though, I was trying to estimate it on my screen measuring between my fingertips so it's good to know it does theoretically fit! Also, I very rarely actually leave comments on youtube so I'm internally squeeing at getting a reply from you! 😅 Hope you're having a lovely day!
I recently started trying to reorganize my 2k+ polish collection. I’m considering the Helmer and it’s is SO hard to figure out how many I need and this was SO HELPFUL YOU ARE AN ANGEL OMG 😂❤

i just hit the 3000 mark. 95% of mine are all indies tho. 😬 gunna need me some more helmers soon. love seeing some of my favorite brands in your collection
Every year or so I go through my polishes and declutter those that are dried out or can’t be saved. I have OPI polishes that are 17 years old. There is something so satisfying seeing bottles of colors nicely organized. I also prefer blues and purples but I’m getting into nudes a lot. My nail color usually reflects my mood so dark is my go to. 💕🐾💕💅🏻
Got rid of 5 polishes this year, so I had the perfect excuse to buy some fun new colors and finishes. I had some OPI that was at least that old. My old Essie Marshmallow had turned into separated, gooey gunk! I'll get a new one with the newer brush. I keep the number of polishes to 18 plus 2 base coats, 1 top coat, etc.
I would be in heaven if I had all these, I mean I do have alot of polish (600 something to be exact) I'm jealous of your collection Kelly lol.. Happy Holidays doll. Xxhugs. & cheers to 2024 🎉🥂🎄
I am obsessed with your collection! 😍😍😍😍 But I can also imagine how overwhelming it can be to own so many shades😅 It is really nice that you donate some extras you have ❤ And I loved the stats at the end!! It is wild that over 200 bottles of a brand is such a small percentage in the overall collection😂 I would definitely love to see more stats if you're ever in the mood for it. I am also cataloging the polishes I own, but what I do is I just write the names down as I wear them cause my collection grew so it would be hard to sit down and do it in one go 😅 That story with the Orly founder is so cute 😂 but I can totally imagine the pain it was xD I had sth similar happen to me at a parent evening in a kindergarden I work in and I just wanted to disappear from the face of the earth lol
I have 70 polishes & I am already a bit overwhelmed. I'm just going to live vicariously through this video. 😅

Most are collections. I keep them in 11x17 sterlight plastic containers. They are arranged by brand then color. Wish we could post pictures of our collections.
But this was very satisfying to watch. Thanks 😊
Ooh that sounds like a great collection! You've got me beat with Essie haha! 💅❤️
Amazing collection!
I use melmers too. I pain the polish onto the top of the cap so I can find them easily
I wish you had a Facebook group page so we could all show you our set ups too!
That's what I said. It would be cool to see how we all organize and store our polish. I have 810 bottles.
My fave this year is mooncat what a. Brilliant nose. Def going to pick up rogue lacquer thanks to your review!
Yay you'll love the brand imo!!
@@KelliMarissaI think a lot of us would appreciate whatever stats you want to share 😊 Can't wait for the cataloging 💜💅🎄
So much fun to see them all. I keep my pinks with my purples too 😊
Love this tip!!
I would use the rotating rack for ice cream nails. The bottles are cute and fun to look at. Or Nailpollies if you ever get any. Any decorative shaped bottles.
I was so wrong in your insta poll 😂you’re the best
Hahaha don't worry most people didn't guess it 🤣 my hint photo was confusing LOL
Wow! Just Wow!
So glad you donate on the regular 😊
Although I will say, a lot of polishes go to friends and loved ones too haha! 😅❤️
Will you ever do Wet n Wild nail polish? Thanks.
This was fun, thank you for sharing!
Wow!! I really thought you'd have most Orly. That's so cool!
Honestly I'm surprised Orly isnt in the top 3 haha I thought I owned more of them!!
Oh thank you haha!! You're gonna have so much fun organizing!!!
@@xpresson6338 ok, good to know. Thanks for the reply.
Ooh I love that! I finally just put in the basic numbers of each brand into excel but I would love to see a giant chart of everything haha!
For my zoya drawers I put the small bottles along the side and they fill in that little gap.
Ooh that's a smart idea!!
That is a huuugeee collection!!!! 😮😮😮
It is sooo fun to watch tho!!!!
Also, I just started installing some acrylic shelves on my own and I’m very proud of it lol!
I just really need to see what I have lol!!! 😂 but I know drawers are better to keep the polish in good condition.
Thank you again Kelli for sharing with us!
This so much fun! Perfect timing as I'm in bed convalescing from a back surgery. I just got myself some popcorn... 😁🍿
Ooh sending you lots of love and healing vibes ❤️❤️❤️
The way you organized your collection really works. I see the purple nail polish remover in your bottles on the floor, and I was wondering if that is the Zoya remover?
I've actually just been using drugstore remover! The purple ones at the drugstore are usually the "strengthening" acetone which is my favorite. I have a mini bottle of the Zoya remover but lately it's been drying me out a lot, I'm thinking just the combo with the winter weather isn't playing nice with my skin haha!
Love this! I don’t have a count but I have four helmers, not all 100% full, plus overflow. I have the most OPI with four full drawers. ❤
It seems like OPI is the majority for everyone haha! I wonder if we all just started with them because they're so easily accessible/have so many color options!!
Love, love, love!!! 😍
Lol
The only ones I don't have on it are the glow in the dark and crackle polishes.
also: we are clocking in at abt 900 polishes currently. soooo glad for community nerdage because: yes it's necessary 😻😹 carry on dear hearts...
@@KelliMarissa YES!!
I can fit 140 Holo Taco in one drawer.
can't wait to see what color is now your HT Cold Shoulder, if you still have it...🥴 i catalogued my own collection into lacquergram, love this app!
Wow - I actually have more Mooncat than you???? How is that possible!!! (104 in my collection so far). I'm so in love with this brand!!
I'm really enjoying them so far haha I gotta catch up to you!!
Hey Kelli...so amazed to watch your Nail polish collection... I have around 300 still struggling to organise them...lol...
That was a very sweet video. Keep up ⬆️ your amazing 😻 collection of nail polish 💅. Life’s too short not to 😎.
@KelliMarissa ah that's magic doing 2 things you enjoy at the same time, I love that, well done you 👏 ❤️
I'd be interested in seeing swatches of colors you have that are similar and your reasons on keeping them!
@@madwild24 haha honestly a great question! And I know it's probably odd that it's the only brand I store sideways 🤣🤣
Love these videos 🤩
your collection is AMAZING🤗💜👍
I know variety is the spice of life but Good Lord! how do you decide what polish to wear???
Awesome collection!
I recently started trying to reorganize my 2k+ polish collection. I’m considering the Helmer and it’s is SO hard to figure out how many I need and this was SO HELPFUL YOU ARE AN ANGEL OMG 😂❤
PS I took so many notes during this video 😭 🤣 you’re the best!
I do love china glaze, essie, opi, and barry m nail polishes. I have lots of Barry M polishes as im in the UK, but its nice to see other brands that i hardly know / seen in the uk! 😅
I have recently passed the 1k mark 😊 My new year resolution is to “try” to do a low buy for 2024 & do more nail stamping 🤞🏻🤞🏻
i just hit the 3000 mark. 95% of mine are all indies tho. 😬 gunna need me some more helmers soon. love seeing some of my favorite brands in your collection
OMG Cataloging your polishes? I need to do that too!
We can do it together! Don't let me procrastinate LOL
@@KelliMarissaOkay but only if you don't let ME procrastinate! I don't have >3000 though. LOL
I hope you know about nail polish thinner! I just revived a dried out China Glaze this morning! 💅
What “drugstore” brand of polish would yall recommend to use as a stamping polish?
Im new to having nails and also painting them.
I am also cataloging the polishes I own, but what I do is I just write the names down as I wear them cause my collection grew so it would be hard to sit down and do it in one go 😅
That story with the Orly founder is so cute 😂 but I can totally imagine the pain it was xD I had sth similar happen to me at a parent evening in a kindergarden I work in and I just wanted to disappear from the face of the earth lol
