As someone who has been a dragonborn druid player I agree, they are not cultists in the slightest, there might be cultists druids but not all druids are cultists. I believe it was my second character i created, a dragonborn druid and I believe I was circle of the moon.
I was hugely into focusing into the elements so my starting breathe was fire and my second later on I chose ice and mainly used wild shape to turn into elementals after my group encountered them, we even home brewed a bit where if I was turned into a wind elemental a member of my party could use say a fire spell on me and do damage yes but cause me to be a fiery tornado or like a poison gas and it would swirl around me or even a combo of water and electricity and it do extra damage if the creature wasnt immune to whatever was whirling around me, with it being better odds to hit me as I wanted to be hit for the combo and so only I'd need to roll past their AC.
as someone who's played a lot of Clerics, I can confirm Druids are not the cultists.

I've honestly wanted to play any of the full casters for a prolonged campaign, to learn it, but every time I think "Hey I could try a caster" the DM I'm joining just pulls out "Oh yeah this is also a level 15 campaign."
I've played fighter/paladin briefly, full fighter a while. Two rogues (One of which was better at bard shenanigans than the actual bard. 3 if you count the one that got crit oneshot in the first combat by some bloke with a hand crossbow.) a Hexblade warlock briefly (Group fell apart too quick.)
I've honestly been dying to play a caster, but I really don't want to dive into it and be overwhelmed.
It honestly sounded like Jeremy had no idea what a druid even was as he was even surprised it was a right answer.

Commoner is absolutely some expansion class, or a 'NPC' class, in one of the early editions. It was definitely one in Pathfinder, but designed for NPCs to help DMs give every old Jimothy a proper statblock. That was kind of a iffy question.

Well, was it intended as basically the Deprived from darksouls, or was it for NPCs do give them a proper statblock in case it came up?
Because I do remember in PF you'd use it so that if your party decided to recruit an army of peasant farmers, you'd know just how much of a useless meat shield they could actually be used as, and how much help they might be for info, giving bonuses for knowledge checks.

In Dark Souls, the Deprived class basically in no class. Hardcore players play it half for the challenge of it (No starting armor, no weapons, lower inital stats) but it does also technically allow better specialization, since the other classes technically start above level 1, but the stats are already spent in various stats.
To rephrase my earlier question, is Peasant designed for funny/hardcore player use, or just for NPCs to fill out statblocks.
Based on the explanations, it seems like it's meant to be the latter, so the DM can fill out statblocks easier without having to fully decide "How much health should this have?" for every NPC the chaotic evil rogue tries to stab.
Back to the original point... It's still iffy as a question, since it's not really a class in the sense anyone else would think of as a class. Unless you happen to have DMed or were reading through the DMG for fun.

Like Literature in school. On one hand, they teach you that poems and stories hold multiple meanings and it means what you make of it, but then they give you a multiple choice for "What does ____ represent?" with one correct answer.
@@PHANTOMCOWGIRL For anyone who was a bit confused, like me, you're talking about Dark Souls 3's Deprived. In DS1 the Deprived starts at the highest level with slightly above average stats across the board, which means wasted points if you're trying to min-max a build. Starts with no armor and a poor shield, but their starting club is surprisingly viable.

Little moments like this where Jeremy calls something improbable right have been popping up a bit in the older vids I've been watching too. UNO the movie had a good one where he called the exact card right as someone played it.

"Commoner" started as an NPC class way back in 2'nd edition (Dragonlance, I believe), though 0 Level characters have been a thing in pretty much every variant of the game in some way, even if by a different name. One of the most brutally difficult, and yet the most fun campaigns I've ever been a part of started us all as Commoners in a prison camp. As we connived/fought/snuck our way out of the compound, we slowly built our classes and actual level 1 stats naturally.
Also, Druids are nature mages, Jeremy. And in most versions, can transform into animals (making them one of the coolest classes in the game).
I like the fact that Gavin is more American than the actual American, Fiona, XD
