    Beautiful! Thank you so much. If for anyone it doesn't work, make sure your mixer is muted, because sometimes the track on the timeline is muted but if it's not also muted in the mixer it doesn't work.

    Nate ..... I've been editing for years and have only just come across this awesome technique! I've often avoided great tunes that just don't end well.... so no more of that nonsense. Now I can end a track almost anywhere. Great job! ps - it works on DA Vinci 19.2 beta!

    That is an absolutely brilliant technique.
    I sometimes use an app called Filmstro to create soundtracks for my videos. But, I've always wanted to do exactly what you showed here: Find that right moment to end the music and make it sound natural. Eventually, "endings" were created for Fillmstro tracks. But, the endings were usually 1-1/2 minutes long. Making it difficult to control it without spending a lot of time trying to blend the FULL track with the ENDING track. Your technique is a fantastic way to create endings without spending inordinate amounts of time getting that desired ending. To make a short story a little longer, your technique is BOSS. Huge thanks.

      @NathanCarterVids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome. Really happy you're able to get some use out of it. I still find myself cutting up songs and fading on the beat to fit the edit, but having tricks like this in the toolbox helps for sure. Thanks for the kind words

  • @bjoernfischer
    @bjoernfischer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    you could also put the reverb effect on an entire audio track. for example: you have your song on track 1 but only the end of the song on track 2. and then in fairlight you put your reverb effect on the second track. this way you skip this whole nesting sequence workaround.
    I did that in premiere pro back than all the time and was always wondering if there is an easier method.

    Okay. You have my attention and subscription. I've just started doing some pro videos and this was cool. I have forwarded your video to my videographer partner who does most of our editing and I know he will like it. I am still getting my head around why you create a new compound clip and new timeline, but I will get there. In the meantime, I am very much looking forward to checking your other videos and others in the future.

    • @NathanCarterVids
      @NathanCarterVids  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. So I made a compound clip so the reverb tail has space to ring out as I added the reverb via the clip level. You can skip this step by adding reverb to the track within the fairlight page. I'm just not a big fan of dedicating a specific track to one effect. Hope that makes it more clear.
