First, I had to get surgery to remove my endometriosis. Then we immediately did 3 IUIs. Unfortunately, during the third IUI my endometriosis pain already came back. I was devastated. My doctors told me we had to go on to ICSI because we could not "waste" time and had to get me pregnant as soon as possible to stop my endometriosis from growing. That was in autumn of 2017. After an ICSI, two FETs and another ICSI in 2018, I still can't believe I am now 17 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby boy! To everyone out there going through infertility: don't lose hope! Yes IUI isn’t as successful as IVF but they are still very successful! Wish you wouldn’t say that because women are watching these videos looking for hope you kind of just crushed that.
People in IVF circles say that IUI is pointless a lot, but it heavily depends on the cause of infertility. For many who reach the point of being diagnosed as infertile, their issue is one that won’t be solved by sperm simply meeting egg in the uterus because that’s been happening for the past year+ with no success. But for some with cervical factor infertility or mild sperm mobility issues, the sperm isn’t meeting the egg through regular intercourse and for these people, IUI can have great success rates. Same for same sex female couples who have normal fertility, but simply must use a sperm donor-these patients also tend to have high success rates from IUI.

I live in Denmark where we get free healthcare, including about 5-8 IUIs and 3 IVFs, so the only payment is medication. I think I'll try IUI as long as my doctor thinks it's a good idea, and then move on to IVF afterwards *if no baby comes of it ofc.
Mine was $700 in Del Mar (San Diego) This didn’t include the mandatory testing or medication. The medication was $17 for clomid at CVS and $53 for ovidrel at La Jolla discount pharmacy. The blood testing was $480 for me and an HSG of almost $500, husband paid $120 for his sperm check and $200 for his blood tests - we went to San Diego fertility center if anyone is curious ❤️

Am going in for my IUI tomorrow and am very nervous. I have had about 7 miscarriages and now the pregnancy is not coming again. I have under gone HSG, SIS and finally laparoscopic and all the test came out good so my doctor suggested we do an IUI now. And sincerely we are not financially doing well. I even get fed up a times
I’m not sure maybe also age also is a factor , I’m currently 37 and in Virginia , the fertility clinic has a good reputation but it is all about luck I guess , sometimes I fell helpless and everyday I pray for a future success. Obviously prices will differ for everyone depending on your insurance.IUI IS DEFINITELY WORTH TRYING before spending thousands on IVF. supreetha ja I will go in for my second in a week. My first not painful at all. Akward but not painful. A little pinching but I didn't feel the catheter. So it's different for each person. For me it felt the same as a pap smear. Which is Akward with a little bit of pinching. Hopefully that helps 😊

I really never wanted children so my son was a miracle and I've never wanted any more kids, So I have no idea how I got here.
How come it’s so important for everyone to have a biologica child when 60% of the worlds orphans will never get adopted? As someone who was adopted myself I just need to know.
Isn't the desire to reproduce an innate part of living? I didn't ask for infertility, so why should I not be able to have a biological child with the person I love? Most orphans are not created under these(ART) circumstances. Also, adoption is not cheap (at least in the US) and is not without it's own heartache. My husband and I do plan to adopt one day, but it will be after we have a biological child so we can experience pregnancy and the baby stages. The adoption process has a lot of red tape and we aren't ready for that yet and would rather adopt an older child that has less of a chance finding a home. You should ask someone who chooses to undergo IVF just to gender select, that's much more confusing that this.

It’s selfish to get artificial insemination And there’s a higher rate of birth defects. The worlds also overpopulated and once again children like me don’t always get adopted. There’s people starving all over the world 😭. We fight our instincts all the time it’s not normal behavior to wear clothing and drive or to go to sleep after it’s already dark. I hope everyone here decides to go with adoption instead of this practice. All children deserve homes and I with the stricter abortion bands there’s going to be more often than ever. We should focus on trying to make it easier for everyone to adopt.Although there’s always private adoption.

I have 2 kids from a previous relationship, I’m 24 and while I don’t want anymore kids right now I do want more in the future. I’ve realized how difficult it is to deal with a partner and sharing my children! And I hate it! So my next kids will most likely be conceived like this so I won’t have to worry about “their” father and sharing them! I think it’s amazing the options we have as women today!

Low cost adoptions cost minimum $12,000..IUI can cost $300-800 with a couple extra hundred dollars for monitoring do you see the difference in price? I contemplated adopting, and fostering but I’m leaning towards this for affordability
Adoption can involve waiting for years and years for someone to pick you. Where I live, the cost of adopting one baby is about the cost of two IVF cycles. Plus adoption ethics are not super straight forward either. Many birth parents feel they were vulnerable and made to feel "less than" due to financial or other life hardships. I'm not against adoption, but I don't think any option is straight forward.

IUI is less painful than giving birth. I hate giving birth. The pain is like hell. Very traumatic for me.
