I would like to give the other side of the story. A lot of times, CHEAP, DEADBEAT customers who don’t want to pay their bills, sneakily stop payment on checks as a way to defraud small businesses out of money they actually owe them. This is WRONG.

If you don’t want to pay a business, you should tell them to their face, honestly, the problem with their product or service and why you’re disputing it. If you pay them a check, and then stop the payment later, it’s actually criminal check fraud, in my state

That’s wrong! It should be stopped 🛑, PERIOD!!!! That’s like saying canceling a stolen credit card for only awhile, and letting the criminal who stole it use it when the bank lets them do so later! Thanks a lot banks for giving our money to them!! 😡

This is bs. If the bank does pay a stopped check? The bank is responsible for the loss of additional cost

You need insert a nano GPS tracker and self destruct device into every cheque just incase you ever need to cancel it for longer than 6 months. Didn't you read the fine print ;p
