WHEN Alex and Noah shared the news that they were going to have a baby, they received a lot of negativity. Alex has a rare disease called spinal muscular atrophy type two and Noah is one of her main caregivers. The couple received nasty comments and there were a lot of misconceptions about Alex being disabled and pregnant. Earlier this year, she gave birth to their gorgeous daughter, Ari, who is now four-months-old. She said: “My pregnancy experience was one of the hardest things I have ever done but I have this beautiful little lady.” Since Ari was born, the negativity has continued with comments questioning both their capabilities as parents. Trolls criticise their parenting, saying Noah is not capable of looking after Alex and Ari, or they assume that their daughter will become her mother’s caregiver. Alex said: “Trolls say I am not fit to be a parent because I am disabled.” But the couple will not let this negativity stop them from posting on social media. Alex said: “I am dedicated to breaking stigmas about disability and being a parent.”

the update on this couple is wild. apparently she is a scammer and her boyfriend was cheating on her and flirting with multiple women. together they destroyed her ex-caretakers belongings because they were mad at him. scary stuff, they are not as innocent they come across!

I think some of the “trolls” are just concerned and worried about her boyfriend being able to be the primary caregiver to both Alex and Ari because he recently came out of drug & alcohols rehab - he wasn’t even there for the baby’s birth due to being in rehab. the trolls are worried an out elapse since it can be very stressful being a caretaker. I am physically disabled, I am 90% paralyzed on my left side due to an illness as a baby. I learnt to do everything with one hand including tying my shoe with one hand. I had a hard time growing up with people poking fun at me. I got married, had two children and received a university education, and had a full time job. My husband was always there for me until he passed in 2019. My son helps me out when I need it. I always felt that it was not all that bad dealing with a disability, the hard part was dealing with society who thought it was OK voicing their opinions.

I am a physically disabled mom and I have two adult kids now my daughter is 25 and my son is 23 and when they were born I was told I wouldn't be able to have a baby and I did and I had them naturally which for some of my disabled friends weren't as lucky I was truly grateful to God that I proved everyone wrong. Being disabled doesn't mean you can't parent. I was able to do 98 % of things for my kids the only thing I couldn't do was just carry them around but my husband would help me. But everything else I did. So you guys keep doing it your doing an amazing job and you baby girl is precious.

Haters are just ableist, judgmental, and misinformed, and they don't bother to do research before trying to bully the family. Since they wanted the baby, I feel like aborting just bc the mother is disabled is a form of eugenics. She's allowed to have kids too. Again though, congrats to the family!

You don't need to be a dr. to know the risks. Common sense is all that's required. If a person can take care of themselves and a baby than it's ok. There are people that are not disabled and do a bad job raising kids, some even criminally. I'm a man that raised two kids alone from day two of their lives. So i know what it takes. This woman has the main thing to raise kids, love. She loves her child. Yes l know it takes more but I'm not losing sleep wondering about the baby cause l believe the baby is being well taking care of.

Being disabled does not mean a person should not have a child. There are genetic risks with two able-bodied individuals and anomalies occur. As long as the child has a good quality of life and the parents want/care/love them - let them be happy.

People like to point out negative things or hate on someone for things they have no control of. It's ridiculous to hate on someone for wanting and having a family. Able-bodied people with families have accidents and become disabled all the time. If this was the case the majority of comments would be how inspiring she is for continuing on and loving her family. Life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean someone doesn't have a right to make the best of it.

Children are not suppose to be fed while lying flat on their backs. They can choke and swallow winds. I don’t think people are jealous or critical it’s about are you able to fully care for your child in a safe way. Already you are not able to hold her to feed her. That already is a safety issue. So for that reason I would say you didn’t put her needs first. Your child will also not be lying on her back in a crib forever. She will be running around, falling over, getting hurt. Will you be able to provide the standard of care she will need then? I pray you have family who will come up alongside you to help you.🙏

Seems like wonderful parents that really love their daughter.
I'm caring for twin boys that had a perfectly able bodied Mom, but she was too focused on her addictions, that she abandoned her most precious gifts. She was physically able. But not stable enough to be a Mother. They are now my most precious gifts and i can't imagine my life without them.
I struggle with health issues as well, but would never let that stop me from being the best Mom that I can be for these sweet boys. They only need love and everything else will work out.
