- We traveled to Connecticut to see the very first Porsche ever produced. #001.
Now owned byAndrew Phinney we spent an afternoon drinking coffee, learning about the car the owner, and the amazing countryside as the leaves turn.
Steve Jobs owned a 928
Stanley Kubrick owned a 928
This was not a car for the masses. It was special.
A truly under appreciated and overlooked masterpiece of design.
A remastered edit from an earlier commission by Christophorous and 911 Magazine.
My grandfather and I were walking in front of Hotel Gellért in Budapest, Hungary in '78 or '79. Klaus Maria Brandauer, the famous german actor, stepped out of a brand new, brown 928. The car looked like a spaceship.
Great story. Thanks for sharing and watching. Cheers 👍🏻
The minute he turned on those headlamps, the car became even more gorgeous
I feel your love for the 928. I have three, only to be eclipsed by an incredible friend who has 21 of them. Enjoy your spaceship friend.
As a 16 year old in 1977 I saw this car and also a 924 in person for the first time and knew I was a Porsche guy. My first Porsche was a 924 turbo I bought in 1985 ($25 thousand). Then my first brand new 911 I bought in '88. I loved the 928 but never bought one and in 40 years I've had numerous Porsches and have 5 now. A couple of years ago I found an '89 GT with 16 thousand miles on it and had to buy it ($90 thousand). Totally mint, it's like the only owner bought it and parked it and waited for me to come along and buy it.
That is amazing. Congrats on the collection! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
When I was a teenager the Lamborghini Murrieta was my dream car but when I saw the 928 it reminded me of that dream and I placed a bid on the ebay auction for a used 1986 32valve 5speed in 1999 I was actually high when I placed the bid😂 still own it and don't regret it.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing, and watching! 👍🏻
Lol, great story. I've done the exact same thing and figured that I was the only one.
It been a slow burn with my GTS. Like all of them, mine had been neglected over the years but it’s slowly being brought back to life. What a car it must have been in the day compared with cars of the same era. It still shines bright.
Clean no spoilers beautiful space ship
It is such a beautiful car. Elegant and ahead of it's time.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Fantastic story. Worthy of VinWiki.
Thanks so much
20 years ago, I owned a '83 928S in Grand Prix white colour! That was my first Porsche and really loved it! Grat for this beauty!
That is great. Cheers!
I honestly loved this car at first sight. Circa early 80s
Hard to argue against any #1. Very cool to see it on the road with an individual owner using it. Cheers
Totally agree. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Art about art.
Thanks so much
Simply epic this very first production 928😮! For me the 928 is the car to have, beautiful scifi shape
It's just such a cool car. Very under appreciated. Thanks for watching
dont forget the 924, also a unique design
The 924 is indeed interesting, but doesn't have the shape and personality of the 928. Cheers
compared to other cars of its time it looked really futuristic.
Nice video.
Thanks so much. Appreciate it. 👍🏻
Congratulations for keeping this amazing Porsche 928!!! The color combination is beautiful and I like the originality of this unit.
Agree. Thanks for watching.
Perfection in white.. and in the right hands.
Nice video and perspective. Cheers.
Thanks mate!
3:33 how funny that there’s a Panamera going the other way. That’s the descendant of the 928, in my opinion. Great video, great car, what a nice way to enjoy the hobby.
Agree ;) That was a happy accident with the Panamera - not even planned. Thanks for watching. Cheers
amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
The 928 is a great platform . I always liked it . Nevertheless for me it never could replace the 911 . I always looked at it as that other great Porsche . Nice video and great to see this nr1 is still around .
Agree 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!
Back in the day where they only gave you drivers side rear view.
Great film
Thanks for watching. Cheers
oooah that pascha interior... 🙏
Agree.. so good 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
Great video 👍👍
Thank you 👍 Thanks for watching
Dear god I absolutely adore Pascha.
My girlfriend my freshman year of college had a red 928 S4. My friends didn’t even know her name, they just called her Porsche.
It's interesting that some people refer to it as a 928, while others refer to it as a 928. 🤷♂️
Me a gustado mucho la configuración de este video, la tranquilidad y elegancia en la que se mueve todo.
muchas gracias!
The First time I saw a 928 I was about 14 years old,it was a green one,I thought I was watching an UFO.
Nice video, how are you passing off a Stuttgart license plate in the USA?
928 rocks
Agree. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I wish I could find one with low mileage.
I just bought car #463 built 1978. Red car manual with a black interior. needs a lot of love but i've done 944 timing belts how hard can it be?
Love that, get after it! Cheers. Thanks for watching
I've watched your videos and just like you I have always admired the 928. But to me, being a 90's kid I think the GTS is the pinnacle. Any reason you're not that interested in newer 928's? Is it just this original bodystyle that ticks your boxes? I love the early cars as well but personally I think the GTS perfect the looks. Cheers. This number #1 is really something.
A better car than the 911 in every way besides a few seconds on the track
Edited: In newly acquired information, I have production #112. Hoping to find another early car!
Bueno el 928 siempre fue mas rápido, excepto el 911 Turbo
@@gonzalomartinez-gil2820 in 1984 the 928 had a higher top speed than the 3.3l Turbo. So the 911 was the slower car in a straight line
Amazing. Thanks for watching!
The first mistake huh
;) Perhaps to some
