This exact model will be here in a day or two. This will be my third Microtech. My Ultratech d/e does misfire more often than I like (more of any other OTF I have) and so I hope this will put me in a better mood regarding Microtech. This little guy set me back 350+ with tax and two day shipping, however, I’m in, Los Angeles and so I can carry it. I’ll just use it as a money clip and won’t use it to cut as I don’t 99% of my knives. I use a USB Boker plus for that. Hope this little guy doesn’t disappoint.
You may have turned me onto the Exocet. I really want the sandtrooper, but they are hard to find. The storm trooper is a close second, so maybe I’ll grab one.
Wasn't completely sold on this one because it's such a short blade. If it was longer and that fat I'd be all about it. It does look interesting and the starwars thing makes it cool. Thanks for picking one up so I didn't have to. I hope they make a 3 or 3.5 inch version.
Just ordered the Jedi knight version, paid 365 with tax , only one place had them available. Bladeops still has them , and the Sith Lord model . Already have the Jedi master utx 85
Cool knife and good review. The blade is sweet but I find the DE with serrations on one side and plan on the other to be more useful, just an observation from my experience.
Great video.. rec is great. Looking for the signature knife twirl. Lol. I just got the tanto version. It’s sweet. I also just handled the sand trooper and kind of wished I would of held out for that one. In hand it’s great. I’m semi new to your channel. It’s great to see another socal enthusiast. I’m sure you’ve probably been there, but if you haven’t been to recon1 get in there.
Great video! I also have a love hate relationship with Microtech. I've ordered 3 of them all from authorized dealers, and all 3 knives are almost as sharp as spoons! Straight out of the package, never carried at all, I can press my finger down on the edge of the blade and run it up and down all day without any hint of being cut at all. I have never been able to actually use any of them. I opened the package, ran my finger down the blade, saw how dull they were, and put them back in the box and threw them in a plastic bin never to be opened again. But, for what it's worth, the knives are really cool though. Lol I love the fact that they are American made and the special edition knives are just awesome. Every time I order a new one, I say I'll never ever order another, but then they come out with some cool special edition and I get suckered in again. I just ordered number 4, an Outbreak Exocet, I'm really hoping this one will maybe be at least somewhat sharp. 🤦🤞
You did 0 research on the knife did you? Even when buying it im fairly sure you saw a picture and a number and clicked yes on it. This is my review of your review: This was not a review, it was a bunch of half guesses and misinformation 😂.
Cali has some very rough laws when it comes to knives (especially big city knife laws like LA) but some states make it flat out illegal to OWN these bad boys just because it’s automatic and “automatic’s are so deadly because they “deploy faster” and an OTF can go straight through someone’s neck because TV says so” When it comes to knives there are worse places to live than Cali.... Minnesota (I found that one surprising) and Hawaii for example knifeup.com Good sight for up to date knife laws
Worst part of the Stormtrooper knife is that you miss all your cuts.

awesome video! thank you!. Does the color hold up on the blade ? i m thinking of getting the exact same otf.
I love that microtech does these star wars themed knives. Great video 👍
“They insist!” lol. I think they should go with a black oxide blade as well.

The whole point of this model is that it’s a money clip that doubles as a back up knife... Which is a role that it fills perfectly, btw.
@@evanacey1414 i think this knife was made to fit california’s knife laws btw

Have you seen the microtech Hera? It seems to be in your sweet spot not to mention it looks very well made
Yeah I plan to get one of those soon!
Love that color scheme!!
sweet little otf I need to try an otf one of these days see what the fuss is all about
I’m hyped just ordered one

Do you recommend going with Dagger or Tanto for Exocet for EDC?
Yup scan code to REC website. I wouldn’t buy one, but I’d like to have one 😆

You should try to get your hands on a cypher. The quality is a step above ultratechs and troodons.
Bought a Troodon. Dull AF! Bought a Stitch. Sharpest factory edge I've experienced🤷♂️
The tanto version of this knife is the only thing that makes it cool. I got a bounty hunter tanto version n it's pretty cool
I dont think the length being under 2" matters when you have a double edge.
I just got my first microtech second hand and after seeing your packaging I’m guessing I got scammed 😭
M390 is if it’s 2021 in this model
Don’t put everyone on to REC, I want there to be some knives left to look at next time I stop in lol
You know how many times I've had to use the glass break... zero.
The new aka makora is a freaking ultratech. They didn’t make a makora. And 700 is insane microtech. If it was a true makora yeah maybe .
That blade is super thin and slicy
