  • I share this fragment of an afternoon of improvisation in the studio, with the only pretense of sharing the music of a live study.
Another story: From the simple to the complex... from the simplicity of the tiniest beings, to the accelerated life we lead at full speed
That's life and that's how you start building a patch in Eurorack.
A cable, a module, and endless connections until you find a sound, texture or rhythm that you like. The key, as in life, are the connections.
The people who founded Monome and the whole community that continues to support that project have created a wonderful environment for composition and experimentation.
Using Monome Grid+ Monome Ansible as main sequencer and all the modulation and even "sound destruction" that can come out of the rest of the modules creates this chaos that also like life can push you to new rhythms or textures.
Mannequins Just Friends, Mangrove and Three sisters provide the main sounds.
Qubit Nautilus and Data Bender for the randomness and audio destruction :)
BTW: Sorry for the clipping sometimes, but the session, like almost all the ones I usually upload, was really live and I was either focused on playing or monitoring :)
Please, consider subscribing and leave a thumbs up if you like my humble creations. It will help me get out to more people who may also like them.
Also check my Instagram if you want more.

Incredibly cool visuals. Dig the split screen. Nothin like a bit of hyperspace. Beautiful tune, love the bass.

thank you so much my friend for still being there! I really appreciate your support.
As I said before.. I realised I had some coding audio issues... and it's surely not the best I have done, but I think we grow by taking steps and trying and learning from the mistakes .. and I share it with the humility of the one who knows he has more to learn than what he has already learned ...

this one feels a bit twisted, perhaps because you've got that 78 part overtop, maybe because of the odd tuning drifts.......the little sounds which remind me of insects flying past.........the scrambled bits in the middle, .....the segment of 3/4 time, the whole thing is very unique and bouncy......great motion blur.....................very kinetic, LOVE the reverse waves!

hahaha... honestly I'm not sure how to read your assessment... but I guess you are right about everything and in any case... the listener, is always right. It is not going to be a best seller... it is a humble audiovisual proposal.
It was a live session, where indeed sometimes you push with modulation everything... in fact I use a module whose bases of operation are based on chaos mathematics: www.nonlinearcircuits.com/modules/p/triple-sloth
The rhythm is not made by a normal clock but is generated by an oscillator whose cycle, when suddenly affected by this modulation, drifts.
As a whole, it is the representation of the unstable harmony that surrounds us... As soon as everything goes by the clock, as soon as we get lost, we appear in another place, another rhythm, or "reversed.
But anyway,. I feel honored to have you always being there listening and valuing everything, even if it is not always up to the level. 🖤

I think the main thing is that you, and me, and others continue to experiment. If we just repeat what we know, and that people like, we'll never come up with something new and fresh......................In my opinion, it's the process that's important, not the result.

@@willswitchcraftit's true... always doing the same thing, or copying a basic scheme that you know is the same of 10000 videos, is not creating, it's copying and that's not what defines an artist or a creator. A copy is licit if it is considered as a step to experiment it, analyze it and make it yours or evolve it but not as an end in itself.
Experimenting is risky, and hard sometimes because of the results, certainly, but it's the only way to grow...
      Thanks for your honesty Will.

@@willswitchcraft BTW... I think I found what you told me about the drift.. There is a drift not intended here in the video rendering! it's like there where a problem during encoding and I didn't realize .. so there is a BIG drift two times in the video like there was a jitter issue. Sorry for that. I didn't watch it after the TH-cam encoding and now it's too late. That jitter generate not only drift but distortion .

there are many times I find problems in my audio or video after posting,.............I guess I could spend a lot more time checking things, but I figure: It's improv, there are going to be hick ups............
