I completely disagree as far as the new chest and traps..The new revolution He-man looks by far superior..The big traps and chest look so much better.. He looks like a proper body builder and hope all new figures use this mold.

Yes. You're 10000000% right!! The new Revolution He-man looks waaaay more realistic in terms of actual human muscular skeletal anatomy. The Revelation one is also human like but when you're talking about He-man's physique, you essentially are talking about a bodybuilder's physique. So Revelation He-man does not fit that category cos he's too slim. The 40th anniversary one is a joke. No human bodybuilder looks like that unless you inject yourself with the oil called synthol ( I'm sure a lot of people have already seen what effects it can have on the human body. Just search it on youtube in case anyone hasn't seen it)
@@Jeflexful To be fair this figure is supposed to look like the cartoon character from Masters of the Universe Revolution. Mattel shouldn’t worry about the physique looking realistic.
@@strongone7616 oh yes. Im totally on board with you on that one but to be fair again, Mattel should get the physique done right too. Because that's another area that they haven't done a good job at too.
@@Jeflexful heh, injected pecs with oil. Yeah, I definitely see that. I've hated the swollen pecs on that 40th Anniversary buck since they revealed it. It looks passable with his harness on but it's absolutely awful without it.

AJ man I appreciate you not dropping the spoiler on the back although not every toytuber showed us that respect. So now because of that I know who's on the back and it is definitely a spoiler that I wished I didn't know until I was surprised. That's why for eternia is the ONLY motu spot for me!! I cannot comprehend how anyone can say this head looks like the cartoon. Take the time and watch the clip where He-Man fights Scare Glow and hit pause a few times. You will see this figure's jawline is dramatically oversized. It's not even close.

Packaging might have been commissioned earlier one with just concept art. I'm assuming they already have a pipeline of figures before the shows are full developed.

Unless i missed it 2 things really stood out to me;
1 - This is the first He-man with fists for both hands.
2 - His "Sword" hand has the vertical hinge so he can hold aloft his sword.

Actually New Adventures He-Man beat him to the Punch on being the First Masterverse He-Man with both a vertical hinge to his right hand & having a fist for either hand!
The firts Masterverse He-Man with a "sword aloft" compatible hand was the 40th He-Man (or movie depending on your area), while the first to have both fists was the 202X/CGI He-Man!

Great review! In prep for this guy I looking at getting either the 'Viking' or previous battle armor figure for the power sword, if you have both could you confirm if there are any paint differences power sword wise between the 2 figs and if so which do you think is a better match for this new figure?
If you mean the New Eternia figures yes there are many differences between them: Vikimg He-Man's has a shiny plastic look to it, almost like stars in it and has a brown wrap to the handle, whereas his Battle Armor NE counterpart is more of a standard steel look to it and its strap is more of a soft beige. I personally don't know which one might go better with this new guy but I don't think you can go wrong with either (though I'm more willing to recommend Viking He-Man as he's the better of the 2 NE He-Men). That being said another option to get this new He-Man the Power Sword could be the Gwildor & Orko 2-Pack or either then wave 1 Revelation He-Man or SkeleGod!

It's actually the style of He-Man in Revelation (and Revolution.) He-Man's head is often depicted on a smaller scale than the rest of his body. Amazing figure!!! He looks awesome, and watching the Battle Armor finally animated for the first time was epic ❤ As for the other He Man figures from Revelation, I love those too as well, they're gorgeous ❤

Actually, if you don't like the way the chin is, you can put in boiling water for about a minute or two, and you can push it up and run it under cold water. Courtesy of Fan Boys Forever for the tip. He has a vid up explaining it
Awesome review. I agree his head could be a little closer to his shoulders but I won't be hosting an all male revue in my toy room anytime soon so I don't have to worry about that. I 😂

First off, thanks for the review AJ, I LOVE the Revelation show and this figure looks like it might be my new favourite, I'm not happy about the lack of power sword and shield but I already them with the Revelation He-Man, I can't wait for the new show and I can't wait for these new figures. I personally feel the head looks closer to the cartoon especially when we saw the side by side with a screen capture comparison, I mean actually look at the new cartoon He-Man's jaw... I also like the artwork of He-Man on the back near the bio because it looks like art from Filmation. In fact, with the head and sword of New Eternia He-Man, this could become my definitive generic He-Man.
Thanks for posting your perspective! To me his jaw is chiseled in the cartoon, but I see it as not nearly as long as Battle Armor He-man's. When I look at the animation still I used in the video, I imagine the animation He-Man mouth closed which raises the jaw higher. The distance to the top of the head to the bottom of the jaw really comes closer to the Revelation figure but not the Revolution figure.
Either way, I am so excited to see the Battle Armor finally in Revolution!

The alternate Faker head (with red eyes) remains as the best Revolution/Revelation He-Man headsculpt thus far.
The new upper chest reminds me of the one from the Savage He-Man; when you had him on display on your opening i was wondering if you were going to compare the two later on.
Because of the larger chest does the Battle Armor fit on the 40th anniversary?
Eh I always felt that Faker head was awful. I tend to only use the completely robot head on that figure.
Indeed. That additional Faker head is a great Revelation sculpt. Those red eyes are also great if you want a Subternia Fear He-Man on your shelf. 🙂
Unfortunately the power armor does not fit the 40th He-Man.
It's been a long time since I compared the two but doesn't Savage He-Man share the same buck as Revelation He-Man? I am not at home so I can't check and now I'm doubting myself. I hope it's the same, or I made a big mistake not including him!
I wonder if that extra room in the battle armor makes it fit on the 40th anniversary He-Man.

It doesn't fit unfortunately!
It's a really good mold, but there isnt a faker that matches it. The revelation he-man and faker look like twins as they should. If they make a faker with the same new beefy mold I'll get them both, but for now I'm sticking to the revelation set. And besides.. he-man doesn't have to be the biggest. He has the power of Grayskull plot armor.

It's okay. It comes with the territory. A lot of information actually comes across my proverbial desk that contains spoiler content. It's his shoulders. That's why He-Man looks weird in that power harness. His shoulders looks like they are coming out of his ribs. I'll keep mine in his battle armor. I loved the review AJ!!!
Glad you enjoyed the review! Yeah I was just commenting elsewhere if you draw the cross on the bone lines, shoulders horizontally, spine vertically, He-Man's neck is too long. But the Power Armor covers it right up so no worries! 🙂
Thanks for the wonderful review and happy new year! I agree with all the ones pointing out this is the best proportioned body so far. the traps and torso are a big improvement from the worst which to me is the Revelation He-Man with the bright yellow skin that could pass as a sibling to vintage Evil-Lyn. That Revelation first He-Man is an abomination and I regret having bought it, even on sale. This new one is still by no means perfect or close to dethrone the classics, sadly as several other figures from this line are better than the classics but not He-Man...yet. The arms are still not big enough (also still with that weird cut in the biceps) and the chest doesn't have the depth, the anatomy of his torso, although looking correct for the first time in the Masterverse line, is still not bulky enough like in the classics, vintage and origins. I also think the loincloth of this He-Man is different, medium size between the huge one of Revelation and the smaller one of the 40th. The 40th loincloth to me is the best one as it looks more like traditional He-Man. I wish you would have tried the armor on the 40th anniversary. I think the big chest protrusion on the armor is to accommodate that huge chest from the 40th Anniversary He-Man.

Unfortunately the battle armor protrudes just more in the middle of the breastplate and does not fit the 40th Anniversary He-Man. (I wish it did!) Also I checked before, and I will double check, but I am pretty certain the loincloth was the same sculpt as Revelation Wave One (unless I'm going crazy which is certainly possible 😃). In regards to proportion, I think it looked odd (at least to me) because if you draw that anatomy cross on the bone lines of the shoulders horizontally and the vertebrae vertically, He-Man's neck appears a little too long. But you know what, these are He-Man figures! Since the vintage days, when has the anatomy ever been exactly correct. 😃

eh, I'm not seeing this 'Leno chin'. When you put up the pic from the show itself, I feel the new head looks way more accurate compared to the old one. The hair looks a bit 'gloopy' but still more accurate than the wave 1 hair. Still not as perfect as a HordakMX head might be (dang, I'll have to get new ones cos the skin tone won't match) but I do like this head sculpt a lot compared to other He-Man heads.
The new torso looks fantastic. The old one was a lil too slight. And the 40th anniversary chest was AWFUL, like he's an inflatable. I'm probably going to get two of this figure to display in both armours at same time (and replace my old wave 1 figure from the Revelation shelf too).
Also finally get a He-Man who has the more flexible furry shorts. The original one is a lil awkward to sit on Battle Cat cos the furry shorts don't bend well enough. Most recent waves have a thinner material so they bend easier so this figure should be easy to sit upon Battle Cat's saddle.
And yeah I'm excited to see the battle armour in animation. When I was a kid, the Battle Armour He-Man was the only one of him I had. So I was disappointed to never see that version in the cartoon. He did appear in comic form at least.
I completely agree. In the comparison, he showed the new head sculpt looks way more accurate..Especially the chin it looks way more accurate to the animation.

Can the battle armor be put on the 40th anniversary heman?
This is a vast improvement over the first but they still don't seem to be able to quite get the face sculpt down. I think I prefer the first one. But the broader shoulders and chest look so much better. The straps on his power harness being thicker look a lot better too and less like he's wearing a sports bra. Great to have his axe now to go with the sword and shield of the first release. Frustrating having to wait for months in the UK for these to become available. I'm still waiting on my NA Skeletor pre-order from almost six months ago.
He-Man is supposed to be a big guy. In the words of Skeletor "You muscle bound oaf!"
Also maybe the reason as to why the battle armor is sculpted that way is for it to fit onto the 40th anniversary He-Man.

All is good here. I'm digging the figure, his new upper torso and all the fun stuff. But the origin of He-man's battle armor bio sounds a bit too.....cheap. I'm sorry to say that but I expected it to be more than that. The bio on the origin of He-man's battle armor that I favor the most is from the Classics one where it states that the battle armor was forged from the power of Grayskull itself to give He-man that special added protection in his relentless battle against all evil on Eternia. Now, to me, that makes it sound more mystical , powerful and sensible for a character like He-man. They even make the bio about the origin of the mechanical sword (200X style) sound great in the Classics line where Man-At- Arms was the one who built it but later was infused with the power of Grayskull by the Sorceress. There's always that Grayskull mystical element involved in all things He-man
to be fair the bio has to be real short and we haven't actually seen the armour be built yet. Maybe there is magic involved.
Great comment and you may have a great point. We won't know for certain until the new series is released and we learn how much (or how little) went into the making of it. Hopefully it's more elaborate than what the brief bio presented. 🙂
The large chest on the 40th Anniversary figure still looks the best imo.

While the 40th Anniversary may look awkward to some with his power harness, with his power harness on he looks amazing and a wonderful nod to the vintage figure that started it all. I love him. 🙂
He looks awesome. His head is indeed a little high on the neck when wearing the harness or bare-chested. That is to accommodate for the battle armor. If they had made his neck the appropriate height, it would look like he didn’t have a neck with the armor on. I’ll probably get two and keep the armored stock and Dremel out the head cup a little to sit a touch lower.

The figure is really cool, more serious than the Revelation one. It is very well detailed, and it has even better textures to it! I'm really considering the purchase, even if I'm not a fan of the new show.

Okay, another He-Man figure with a "okay" facesculpt. The rest of the figure is a good imrpovement to the previous figures. The new Battle Armor looks awesome.

@@foreterniaofficial I think if they just made the chin a bit smaller, it would've been perfect. It makes him look like he's doing the creepy chin without his mouth moving, which is really weird. Still gonna pick him up though
@@TobyKester9 Yep, the minor alteration would have improved it so much. And it's so obvious! In a perfect world, Mattel should have a private group of fans that sign non-disclosure agreements where they can run their initial designs by and ask for opinions. I think it would be a great help!

@foreterniaofficial I got to looking at the pictures, and I think that the size of everything is okay, but it is the fact that the chin is a bit too triangular, whereas the Revelation head sculpt has a more squared-off chin
I love most of the Masterverse figures - but I really don't like this one. Just looks completely off to me. I am more than happy that we have the fabulous New Eternia version and that I don't have to by this one.

I can understand that point of view. It has some extreme features that certainly won't work for everyone.
Fourth best Masterverse He-Man so far: Anniversary, Movie (no.1 if it had a better head), Mew Eternia and then this guy. I think his traps and chest look better on the buck too, but the shoulders need to be bigger/higher to make it work.
Really enjoyed the whole: "I don't wanna spoil the show so I'm gonna cover this character... by the way did you know He-Man loses his sword and Andra makes his armour?" Lol
That's fair.😄 We do discuss minor spoilers on the site that are revealed at SDCC (sword) and from Masterverse boxes (Andra built the Power Armor) but this one feels more substantial than the rest, especially considering the character's title. We actually reported on it a long time ago but then took it down. It's a tricky balance to report scoops but not spoil the show for everyone which, while I know no matter how much I try, I am never going to 100% right. But I'll keep trying! 🙂

@@foreterniaofficial I know that the character one is a lot bigger and this one is pretty minor (I imagine the sword destruction will be a fairly early occurance) so I'm not having a go. I just found it funny that the it was like a sentence apart 😅

The head again! Geez. It's another He-Emo, not He-Man. I guess a certain type of male will appreciate the look.
The armor plating looks so bulky, and definitely in a bad way. In the same ways that I didn't like with Classics. His chest reminds me of that infamously bad Rob Liefeld drawing of Captain America.
You need a bulky armor when you go to war so that the sword doesn’t penetrate
@@Charmander009 that's not how armor works. It needs to be thick generally, not just bulky. But it could be thinner, as long as it's reinforced by multiple folds.
But a curved protruding breastplate like this is only going to do two things:
1) hinder movement
2) cause the opponents weapon to slide off the armor and most likely upward toward your face.
Wow, the infamous Rob Liefeld Captain America is even more extreme than He-Man's Battle Armor but it definitely drives the point home. Nice comparison. 🙂
Eh, it's way better than Classics armour. On those figures the torsos were so bulbous and wide the armour often ended up near circular and made them look fat. This looks way better to me.

No, he´s not cool. I have all the Motu Classics and there is no need to buy these figures. Some are very good and some not.
A lot of people feel that way about Classics too so they collect a mix of the two. What's awesome is most figures from Masterverse and Classics display pretty well together on your shelf so it doesn't look awkward. Thanks for watching!!! 🙂
