Passive bass you said but then again, there's the three way preamp mode selector. But isn't that the passive, active, active with a trebble boost selector?
Compared to the U.S version, what do you think, are there any/many differences, also what is the action and neck relief like ? Love that wee riff you're playing lol, thanks for the demo.
Oh heck it's been a really long time since I made this video so forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing it's one of two things. Either 1) there is no "off" or 2) it'll be the centre positions of each switch.
Sawyer McElroy-Parvis The three positions are: Passive, active, active with treble boost. However, I do believe he started with Active with Treble Boost as position 1, and then worked his way to Passive as position 3. If you listen with headphones, you will hear the differences. I also feel that his Series and Parallel were backwards. When he switched to what he called Parallel, the tone was about 20% louder than before....but Series is actually louder and is more midrange-focused than Parallel. Just my observations as I have owned a USA model for the lay 20 years...1997 was the first model year of the L2500 (though mine was built in the 3rd quarter of '96)
My DIY debut album 'NICKO_1' is OUT NOW!
It would mean the world to me if you gave it a spin. Thank you.

I bought that very bass. That actual one!! The one you are playing.
Liam Godden Awesome! How are you finding it?
BedroomBassist pretty good.
That's my exact rig, a cmd121p (sometimes with the extension ny121)
and tribute L2500! Great playing, thanks for the vid!
Hey that's awesome! Congrats on having such a great setup haha. :)

Great demo mate.I dont usually like the g and l brittle sound but this one sounds good.
That's that nice lick I liked in one of your other videos at 0.30. haha I still love it! : )
With a bit of extra this time!! Haha. Cheers!
That lick really is dope....agreed
Good demo
String thru body. What model is that?
You‘re a beast
What would you recommend? This bass or a Sterling 5 String HH?
Hello, great review. Have you got still this one?
I'd be interested in but I'm looking some info about wheight...
How much heavy is it?
Thanks a lot.
OOPS! I just realised I am a silly sausage and it would in fact have been Mr. Fender's 107th birthday!! Sorry!! 😁😅
nice vidio
What do those 3 preamp settings do? This bass sounds a lot like a Sterling Ray35.
Preamp position 1, I assume, the passive mode (bypassing the preamp), 2 is active (preamp on), 3 is active with a treble boost. It's a great bass.
I was all set to get a MTD Super 5 until I saw that The G&L.
Compared to the U.S version, what do you think, are there any/many differences, also what is the action and neck relief like ? Love that wee riff you're playing lol, thanks for the demo.
Pickups are US made in both cases. The preamp may also be US made.
This is more like Fender’s made in Mexico basses.
which preamp position is 'off', though? 1? , 3?
Oh heck it's been a really long time since I made this video so forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing it's one of two things. Either 1) there is no "off" or 2) it'll be the centre positions of each switch.
@@helloitsnicko there is an “off”. It’s not the center.
active /passive? but no battery? how do that work
I think I was wrong about that - it must simply be an exclusively passive bass.
There is a battery in the main cavity
@@helloitsnicko huh?? Abs not! Hence the preamp mode selector!
Relax, I'm sorry, I made a mistake.
A little bit of pick test wouldn't hurt :) but thanks for the test !
+Petbool I'll keep that in mind for future demos! Thanks!
What do those different preamp positions actually mean
Sawyer McElroy-Parvis
The three positions are:
Passive, active, active with treble boost.
However, I do believe he started with Active with Treble Boost as position 1, and then worked his way to Passive as position 3. If you listen with headphones, you will hear the differences. Edwardo Tapperino ah, alright, thanks a lot
I hear a constant sound when playing, similar to a quiet whistle...
My apologies, it's probably as a result of my old recording method 🥴
Bounce lol
:D
One critique: “preamp pos three” is a pretty useless identifier. Why not say “preamp off” or “preamp on w treble boost”
