Ah, she's such a good old ship, the Avenger. Keep in mind that she's, lore-wise, 200 years out of date. She passed from mainline military service into police/civil service, and is still a standard security prowler in civilian settings. She's the Crown Vic of the Star Citizen universe, and I think her performance reflects both her age and her role.
Close enough, they are old af ships. I will have to look at the lore again but iirc the Hornet was the replacement for the Gladius in some squadrons but both are very old game lore. Same as the Avenger.
@@Valterius87 the F7 was the replacement for the Avenger Titan. The Gladius served alongside the Avenger. The F7A MkII replaced the F7A MkI (What you have in game). The Gladius was replaced by the Anvil Arrow.
I am so stoked that you are fighting with the Titan here. I know that this ship is not the best for combat but it has been my favorite and always come back to it. Avenger's main feature is large interior space that can be used for cargo or special modules. Its not a pure fighter. The Titan is a perfect courier ship for small expensive cargo. Its fast, it flies in atmo well, it can stand for itself in combat well and is small enough to land in a tight spot. We don't have proper cargo loops for such a ship yet (we don't have much of cargo loops anyway). I have always found it feels right to do narco runs with it or even box delivery. In combat you can't do much with extra size and weight the cargo hold adds to it. So I believe its current performance is reasonable for a universal ship. I must note I love how Avenger looks and how its interior feels like. This ship will always have a spot in my heart.
@@Avenger__One You have mentioned the Hornet performance and that is really weird one. Light courier ship loosing battles to dedicated light fighters is ok. Dedicated medium fighter loosing battles to a light courier ship is not.
Avenger Titan was my first ship, and I'd be lying if I said I don't still love that little ship. There are plenty of faster, more agile, more powerful ships, but very few that I've had both wings, a gun, and most of the hull blown off and still come out on top. It's the underdog that can usually win the day if you just keep fighting and have a little faith. Plus, a great daily flier.
I was watching some of the fights during the livestream and even I could *feel* the sluggishness of the Avenger Titan whenever you were turning it to face more agile opponents, such as the M50.
Maybe Avenger Titan could do with a buff to overall HP due to it's larger hit box and current turn rate to give it some more staying power e.g. give it a third S1 shield, and buff the hull from 12k to 20k HP. Then check and consider if capacitor could do with a slight buff. Because it doesn't have the benefit that light fighters do of being able to avoid a fair amount of damage, it generally ends up tanking the damage whilst engaging fighters (light-medium-heavy) and other ship classes, but it's low HP relative to it's cross section means it doesn't "tank" for long enough to stay in the fight an be moderately competitive.
I would have to check the lore timeline, but I know older ships had more armor because shield technology wasn't as good. This is one of the reasons the Perseus has been good in the fight against the Vanduul. The Perseus was put into production prior to the 1st Tevarin War and humans didn't have shields on ships that "small", only large human ships had shields. The Tevarin had much more advanced shield technology than humans and after we defeated them we took the technology. I know the Avengers came into production during the Messer Era, however I'm not sure about how much armor the Avengers are supposed to have.
I rarely fly my Avenger Titan these days, but she's that old reliable Toyota you just cant get rid of as it does everything you ask, and are ok it's not the best at it. I think I also have a spot for it in my heart as when I upgraded to it from my mustang alpha. It got me playing SC again and allowed me to take my friends who just got the game to places in the verse they probably wouldn't have seen if they tried flying there as a beginner. It's also cheap to instant claim at around 350aUEC if you wreck it so your downtime doesnt cost a lot due to mistakes. That's my 2aUEC on it.
Could not agree more on everything. Main takeaway - glad you are using the attrtions in the latest vids. Sound and look so much better than the partners (my opinion only)! And yeah, it is about time they give the hornets skme love man!
Holy shit you make it like an s tier ship haha, I am enjoying watching your videos I seem to be surviving more than 10 seconds in PVP fights, but when using mouse and KB I think I am very compromised as I cannot control the roll like a joystick will provide.
