- Tropical Storm Nicole, which is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane sometime Wednesday, was passing over Great Abaco Island early Wednesday afternoon and will approach the east coast of Florida within the hurricane warning area Wednesday night.

I’m in Ormond Beach (next to Daytona). We got HAMMERED by Ian, as it sat on top of us for 12 hours due to a cold front. This is far less powerful, which is a relief. It will also be out of here by tomorrow afternoon/evening. I feel so bad for those who are still dealing with flooding, like those on the St. John’s River. Bottom line is, we are ready for hurricanes to go away for a while!

The “Treasure Coast” is not on the east t coast of Florida but on the west coast long the Tampa Bay, Pinellas County GulfCoast. Hence the Gasparilla Parade in Tampa and Treasure Island in Pinellas county

Why do we have warnings in Tampa, Jacksonville and Pensacola? Is this hurricane a gymnast?
I am by Tampa, it all depends on how quickly the storm dissipates, slows down, before it reaches us. Right now at 6pm it is gusty and steady winds. Morning will tell but this seems to be a slow moving storm.
