Yeah, the only person that got RECORDED was Kirk. This is what the fuck is wrong with people these days. Judging even not knowing the whole truth or what happend afterwards.
Say what you want about Hetfield’s behaviour in the Some Kind Of Monster documentary, but this speech was genuinely beautiful and incredibly well versed. “Everyone’s born good. Everyone’s got the same sized soul. And we’re here to connect with that. So we’re very proud to be in your house and play some music for you.” That’s honestly one of the bravest things I’ve ever seen him do, in fact it might be the bravest thing I’ve ever seen Metallica as band do. There’s true wisdom and heart in that speech and I don’t think he could have worded it better. He must have had balls bigger than church bells to do it, but he did it, and it was amazing. Love Metallica
1:37 that's very honest and true for him to say, I respect this guy. He does by his words, we have now 2023 and he ain't trying to sell anything in the world where almost everybody is pushing something onto others.
I can relate to what James said about struggling with anger all his life, I'm going through the same. Ive lived a cursed life that things have happened to me through no fault of my own, from being born an unwanted child, being raped at 13 and suffering cancer throughout my entire adult life I've so much trauma and rage inside. If it wasn't for the light that my beautiful wife has given I would be dead or in prison myself.
@ImaHeatseekr Thank you, I'm doing a little better now im taking the right antidepressants, I've still got tumours in my brain but the tumours in my lung has shrunken to a degree that they can't measure it which is such a relief. I hope you are healthy and well. 😃
@Frau_Blucher thank you frau and on an even happier note I was reunited with my surrogate sister yesterday, we fell out over a year ago when I was going through serious mental health issues. I have my entire little family back again and that is all I ever needed.
James found early in his Life that being Open and Honest is the best. He always talks to about his feelings and little does he know it reminds everyone how Human he is and how much more relatable His Mind is ❤
My regret not starting my job at SQ early enough to meet a couple of my hero’s. Now I work at old Folsom and it thrives on the Johnny cash thing…which I never cared about. Having Metallica would have been a dream come true 🤘
Weird how people cant treat anger like sadness or depression. You get someone who is constantly depressed, everyone in the world is there to lend a hand. You get a person who is filled with anger, everyone just tells them they have problems and need to go to anger management. Does anybody ever sit back and ask what causes that anger in the first place? If you encounter this person, kindly ask them if their anger is coming from somewhere. You might open them up and help them let go of that anger.
You’re entirely right. Anger is a secondary emotion-it’s a response to fear/anxiety. Perpetually angry/violent people were often highly traumatized at an early age and can’t get out of the instinct to defend themselves.
Its obvious that James looks at himself as someone who is so flawed & that is why he is always humble and a tiny bit awkward when people treat him like god. He's such a fantastic human being for that exact reason. He is flawed and he knows it. He embraces it and tries to move on positively.
It was done for marketing. Every thing they do is because of that so people like you can swalllow it and they have more sales and more money brainwashed dude.

JAMES HETFIELD TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH BEFORE EVERYONE GOT ON THE BAND WAGON. WHY ISNT THE WORLDS MEDIA PRASING THIS GUY LIKE THEY DO EVERYONE ELSE??????
Yeah, legit, like I don't doubt that he is praised, he's James frigging Hetfield. Although, on the other hand I've seen short documentary article type videos of like Bo Burnham saying how he's praised for his blatant honesty of the truth of fame and mental health struggles etc. Which is fine and true, though they phrase it almost as if he's the only artist who's ever been honest about that stuff. Like, bro, literally all this rock n' roll and even in other genres of music- There's so many people who have been blatantly honest and down to earth. Maybe it's not because there's a lack of honest emotions in art and music but maybe more so because there's a concerning surplus of art and music that isn't as genuine and down to earth. Classic phenomenon of universal abuse.
The only really rational one was Kirk. Hetfield was less at fault than Ulrich, but he was in a really bad way, he was suffering from a really bad alcohol addiction problem. They were awful to Newstead, but he was no saint himself. Everything was going out of control, but Ulrich was most to blame, because what he lacks in height and tempo, he seems to make up for in ego. I almost wish it had been him who’d focking left the band.
Those poor guys, sitting in jail and being forced to listen to only St. Anger. That has to qualify as cruel and unusual punishment on top of their sentences.
I ask myself: Could make the same music at the same place if someone killed your family and is in prison for that? And furthermore: When he/she stands out there in the crowd?
I didn’t see those prisoners shouting out obscenities at him having an entitled behaviour? You saw an edited down version of his speech, & you interpreted it the way you wanted to. He was letting them know that if he didn’t have his music as his outlet, his outcome could very well have been the same as theirs. You’re in control of your own destiny. Find something to focus your negative energies into. Hardly think that’s an entitled speech.
Just because your a millionaire doesn't mean your immune to crime, but being financially stable makes it easier in the sense you wouldn't have to turn to crime as a last resort, I think he was just offering some advice
