with AV1 will it be unnecessary for 2 PC setups ? I'm tryna determine weather or not having a dedicated streaming PC is worth.
IMO needing a 2 PC set up hasn't been required ever since the Nvidia RTX 2000 series. NVENC is SO much more efficient than x264 Software encoding it's insane.
But to use AV1, you need at least a RTX 4000 car from Nvidia, or the equivalent from AMD/Intel.
Can we currently put "1" to only provide 1080p, and can we put like 10k bitrate in the above option? To maximize the 1080p
Nope. It’s limited to 6k at 1080p60
Kind of silly of them to not consider allowing a 10k bitrate for people who would rather output 1 resolution at the maximum allowable bitrate. If transcoding is the thorn in Twitch's side, then allow people to transcode themselves without forcing them to do it at a bitrate that is lower than what is possible.
Is the beta currently out? Are they accepting people for the beta as of today?
The beta will be going on for a while. You should be able to opt in on your dashboard
Can we stream 10k outside of the beta now?
No. This is an aggregate bitrate that ALL the resolutions are taken from. 1080p60 6k, and down from there.
is it 10k for h.264?
Yes. The other codecs aren’t enabled yet.
