I don't want to listen to anyone else! A fantastic performer unlike any other and very warm when you meet him in person. He really brings out and makes you appreciate the wonder and miracle of music regardless of your instrument or genre.
I was thinking on bringing my clarinet out from the current place of hiding and start practicing again, then I saw Martin Fröst doing this live and thought; God has already chosen what soloist to bring to the heavenly symphony orchestra, and I just put it back in the cupboard.
The hardest thing is getting over the mentality that it is impossible and daring to try it and perfect it. The technique and the feeling is different from on the trumpet, of course, but circular breathing is learnable in less than a week. It's not as hard as you would think.
Thank you for the music. I recommend one more lovely tune for clarinet: "Your Eyes Are So Blue" performed by OK-Dreamband (iTunes, amazon) on cd "Clarinet-Dreams". I love it too.
To the 30 year old who posts videos on TH-cam of him doing a front flip, yeah I think that I will argue that Larry Combs comes near Martin Frost in terms of playing clarinet.
3:26-3:36 is the clarinet solo from the third act of Puccini's Tosca ... interesting. Is that part of the concerto or did he just put that in an improvisation?
That's one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen in my life- I LOVE IT!
An amazing clarinetist and performer...This artist helps me to see beyond blue to a kaleidoscope of peacock hues...
This is the most enthralling and impacting performance I have ever witnessed.

Saw him in Melbourne today - the best concert I've ever been to

I can't stop listening to it! Fantastic
this is amazing. this is the music that is being played when squidward travels in time and breaks the time machine!
(mind of a fifth grader)
This piece was written for Frost. Watching him perform, I can see why the composer titled it "Peacock Tales."
14 people envy Martin's marvelous musicianship and creativity ;-)
just saw this guy live in newcastle - incredible.
Bravo ! It's very great !
AMAZING!!!!!!!
I think I want to get the music for this piece. Ugh. Fantastic :D
That's what I thought...I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed!
This clarinettist is insane!!!

You´ve got that right,I learned to do it in 2 hours..But I´m still perfecting it. You just have to figure it out:) then you can stream to perfection:)
@Clarinet159 AWESOME!
I will learn that song on my clarinet
@weronete Not multiphonics, if you listen closely, no two notes are played at the same time. However, awesome circular breathing takes place.

@wolfman918 Sabine Meyer? Ricardo Morales? Paul Meyer? To name a few... it is impossible to say that there is a "best" clarinetist alive.

Frost confuses me sometimes. Yet he still is a wonderful performer.
@topolinik oh geeze... I spoke too "late". Someone else noticed I guess...
@SilentSymphony15 Listen at 3:26 Here is the beginning of famous solo "e lucevan le stelle" from "Tosca" by Puccini. Bye.
:O si yeah...!!! que nivel el de ese man yo voy a llegar a tocar como si...!!! :D
The secret is in the circular breathing, which is by no means anywhere close to impossible. lol...
martin frost is crazy....xD

1:58 i thought video stopped...
what, i don't even, what...? you're trolling..?
tosca :) awesome
I heard it's really hard to circular breathe? on the clarinet compared to say, the trumpet.
@ScottyCollinson it's not really ....BUT IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE IT! haha
interesting piece, but those register leaps are so hard to do without undertones!
Where could I find sheet music for this???
Where can I get the music for this for clarinet and piano?
Where can you find the sheet music for this?
5:00 to 6:00 multiphonics????
I think I'd rather let Larry Combs, Stanley Drucker, Ricardo Morales or even Sabine Meyer be a role model for myself as a clarinetist..
Chuck Norris plays clarinet!
You should follow the subject more closely,if you start to contredict. ciao
He is SO scary.
yes, too much for my taste too =)
clarinet should be a background instrument... it's a strange sound
this piece is strange, not the clarinet
Hillborg should be ashamed of himself having stolen from Puccini!!! :-p
Gosh, many students can do circular breathing,it´s not that imposible, even if YOU can´t do it. SARCAZEM doesn´t bring any good,dude..;)
byebye
muy groso
Silly.
The playing is amazing, but the dancing is kind of unnecessary and stupid.
