1:08 RIP Kaye Young (1956-2010) and Faye Young (1956-2015), both succumbing to cancer: Kaye to skin cancer, and Faye to brain cancer after surviving stage four colon cancer. They both starred at Peace College, North Carolina State University where they played for legendary coach Kay Yow (who also died of cancer), and with the New York Stars and New Jersey Gems of the Women's Professional Basketball League. They were with the Gems at the time this ad aired. Faye later coached at Manhattan College, served as a women's college basketball analyst for ESPN, wrote "Winning Basketball for Girls," and her last position was as the head girls' basketball coach at Ithaca (NY) High School as well as a volunteer assistant for the Cornell University women's basketball program. Kaye's widower, her college sweetheart Bill Cowher, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame ten years after she died by virtue of his career as one of three head coaches for the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1969, including a victory in Super Bowl XL in January 2006 following the 2005 season; NFL television crews would frequently cut to her and her family in the stands. They married the year this ad aired while he was a reserve linebacker and special teams ace for the then-AFC Central champion Cleveland Browns. Their three daughters all played NCAA Division I college basketball.

Looks like Peter Tomarken in the Comtrex commercial.
Nice find 😀 it is difficult to find early SNL airings.
Thanks 🙂 I actually have even older airings also with commercials on betamax dating back to the late 70s.
@@meredith_vintage Wow! that's pretty cool 🙂
"SCTV" brutally spoofed Brenda Vaccaro's Playtex Tampons commercial, as "Bren's Gen-Fem Protect-Ease 'Pons".
Mega Tech - Jim Connell as the nerdy customer.
Is that right? I thought it might be Frederick Coffin, maybe best known for Hard to Kill (1989).
23:14 Did the credits ever get cut off or was that an edit?
~8:00 - "BJ And The Bear" promo V/O'd by Roger Tuttle.
~24:53 - "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" promo V/O'd by Bill Rippe.
