RIP Phil - legend ❤ I promised Phil I would promote his book before he passed away. The link to Phils book www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Gym-Screw-Parkhurst-Longlartin/dp/1916572332
Just wanted to say I’m humbled by all the lovely comments, thank you. Also thank you to James for giving me the opportunity. Hopefully we can do it again, so much more to tell and cover. Trying to condense 30 years into 2 hours Is impossible. There’s lots of success stories out there it’s just many people, media and press only want to write about what they see as failures. Maybe that’s for next time we meet James. Thanks again. ❤
One of the best episodes yet. If there was more people like Phil around the world would be a better place. Kind, respectful, compassionate, self aware, hard working...... look forward to the book 👍
Fascinating. You have to salute men like Phil. Helping to rehabilitate, showing fairness and respect, rather than just locking up and throwing away the key. Also good luck with your recovery.
Can I just say James, Phil is by a country mile the best of the podcasts I've heard. If the world had more Phil's we would be more than half way there, what a respectable and kind human being.
Absolutely heartbroken my pal has passed😞😞😞😞 just spoken to his wife today and it meant the world! ❤️ just shows you the character of Phils family to think of others at this time❤️ Never forgotten pal see you on the other side😎😎😎😎
I wasn’t lucky enough to have met Phil but his character, personality and HUGE heart shine through in this interview. I was gutted when after watching the interview reading the comments and seeing that he’s passed, so so sad. They always take the best ones early! I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a comment section filled with so much admiration for a man as I’ve seen here. I find it really sad that people only share their feelings about a person AFTER they have passed and I always think “I hope you told them that when they were still with us”, in Phil’s case James’ interview has triggered people to comment on here the difference he made to their lives and what an amazing guy he was and it warms my heart to see that he’s read the comments (and responded to a good chunk of them!) and that even though it’s a tragic loss that he’s passed it’s fantastic that he’s seen for himself how highly thought of he was by so many. He was obviously one in a million and James I’m so sorry that you’ve lost such a good friend and mentor, keep making him proud by continuing your hard work building yourself an amazing life on the right side of the door. I’m so sorry for your loss x Kathy
I was very humbled at his funeral, i was working the wake and the amazing things people said and stories i heard. I spoke to most people and everyone there was so respectful, of Phil, his family and the community he lived in. I wish his family all the best xx

James, that was a great interview! Nice one!
Extraordinary man... his unwavering commitment to the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners has not only made a difference in the lives of those he works with but has also made a positive impact on society as a whole. he should be a governor His dedication, hard work understanding on how to work with priosners servs as a model for other staff to follow, and i am grateful for his service and the positive change he brought to my life he is the best prison office that i have known and i am happy to call him my friend. 😍

Phil’s from my home town. Such a great re-count of your career.
I remember being on holiday with you when you met your first wife in Towyn.
If I remember rightly you were on holiday with Cecil? I was with Shaun
Great re-count of your life and career since you left Radders! So sorry that you’ve suffered with the big C
Wishing you a long retirement
Regards
