Hmm. I wonder why no one used the AM2R engine to remake the first Metroid game, super Metroid and fusion. The foundation is right there. It be a wild ride doing a randomizer with all 4 of these games together in the same engine like ocarina of time + majora mask.
Community Updates team AND Modding Server heavily discourages the creation of maps regarding other 2D Metroid titles into AM2R, such as Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, etc. Hence why no one has done a AM3R or AM4R with new assets. The Community Updates team has stated that for the "green flag" (not so green to be honest) it would be when AM2R 2.0 drops, since they don't want to attract too much attention towards them until that is finished.
I'm really enjoying the music and I would love to have an expansion of some kind or whatever. The forced "Kaizo" elements break immersion for me though, like manipulating the morph ball mechanic to "float" mid-air and whatnot. It's not that I dislike difficulty, it just doesn't feel authentic to me in the way that AM2R vanilla and Super Metroid do. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to this and I prefer the darker ambience of this over the Metroid Prime esque music (with the exception of the final area). It feels more consistent with the original trilogy.
The mod will come in 2 versions one is a Kaizo for experienced players and another casual. The only thing that changes is the level design difficulty. However, it's important to note that this mod does aim to challenge players on platforming/combat in AM2R. That means that even as a casual you'd be put through interesting and fun rooms.

@@glitzy5214 so basically they still making the Lego blocks. Once it ready, it be building time.
Essentially yes but I doubt the current modders would be interested in recreations. They're much more interested in original work.
Ive always loved the platforming in metroid, and am2r might have the most fluid platforming in the series. This looks amazing
Game muito bom!!!
Woah this looks really hard with the amount of tricks and airballs.
Ill definitely consider this after i beat am2r vanilla
This looks amazing, great work so far!

@@glitzy5214 That's a really cool idea and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished game.
Feel free to share another trailer with us. :p
Probably in mid this year or beginning of next year
I’m going to check this out in the future, that’s great looking
AM2R Kaizo
This looks incredible! Can’t wait to die 60 million times
that looks really cool
Amaze-ing
That looks a little bit challenging
looks cool but the techniques used look a bit hard for a casual metroid player like me
Difficulty will be adjusted in the final version
Nice
