Emma Hunsaker, the primary purpose for the summer seminar is for those who are interested in attending USNA. So, if you didn't get accepted to the summer seminar and weren't interested in attending USNA, think of your rejection as allowing another who was interested in being able to obtain the opportunity you didn't want. This is the type of thoughtfulness of others true leaders ought to have.
I didn't get into NASS and didn't get into the Academy this year. I will be reapplying and hopefully will get in next year! In the wise words of Winston Churchill, "Never, never, never give up."
Hi I'm a freshman in high school and it has been my dream to attend the USNA ever since I was in 5th great. I am very close family friends with a Rear admiral in the navy and a state senator. I am also getting home schooled next year to sail around the world on a sail boat. I was just wondering if these things will help me get to the top of the admissions list. Thanks!
Hey I'm also a freshman who wishes to attend the USNA and I'm also homeschooled. Just not sailing on a boat like you are, but I can imagine that would help. Hope you make it in!
Didn’t make it to usna but went to USCGA AIM program and loved it. Ended up at UVM, but I’m loving it there. Life’s crazy, didn’t end up where I wanted to but I’m super happy where I am. Just wanted to let people know it’s not the end of the world if you get denied!
I read on the website that you do not need to fill out the Preliminary Application if you applied to NASS. What if you do not get admitted in? Do I need to fill out the Preliminary Application still?
Hello, I have a question for those of you at the Office of Admissions. I applied to the NASS and was unfortunately not offered a place. However, I still am interested in continuing my application to the Naval Academy. Seeing as that served as a preliminary, I was wondering if it would be unreasonable to contact my admissions counselor and update my application, as I've taken many steps to make myself a better potential candidate. Would this be acceptable? Thank you.
I am not disappointed, My motivation has doubled! I appreciate this video.

Never mind. I received my candidate letter and that answered my question. Thank you.

I was wondering if the reason I didn't get accepted to the NASS was that I didn't include an ACT or SAT score. Does anyone have thoughts on that?

It's natural to feel disappointed, however it should not stand in the way of motivation.
