On The Ground, it's a song for her past hardworking self, roseanne. as you have seen in the mv, the one who played the piano was roseanne and rosè's watching herself, how she worked hard and tried her best to achieve those attainments, also when she wrote rosè in the mirror she was shown, then a short clip was shown with a writing of roseanne in the mirror and she didn't appear in that short clip. it was all memories. in the end, what you needed was on the ground (within you, the memories and efforts exerted). it taught us that we should never forget who we were, where we came from because without those struggles, getting high is nothing at all.

ON THE GROUND explained - It seems like a typical love song but Rosé said in her vlive an hour before the M/V's release that people were surprised when they saw the direction she went in because it was not exactly a love song.

ROSÉ explained - "Basically the song is kind of about looking for answers in life for a purpose in life, and I feel like people especially these days, can relate to it, sometimes when you're always kind of on that roll, you kind of forget to take care of what actually matters to you most, and it's just a song that says everything we need is already within ourself. There's no need to go out and look for it."

MV explained - The "You and I" that Rosé sings about in On The Ground is actually about her and her past self. This song is about her development and change in life to a more lavish level but still missing something that actually also matters to her. She sings "You find out that your gold's just plastic." This means that the new life she has now is not as great as she expected it/not as valued as her own life. When she writes "Rosé" on the mirror that's her as an Artist but then it makes a flashback , written where she only just a little "Roseanne" (her Real Name). This shows her transformation from her past self to who she is now. Then right after the mirrors, we see Rosé in the black+pink dress looking at her younger self playing the piano and being happy for her
enjoying the things that actually she miss/loved the most.

Since watching the documentary you can tell that Rosie just really cares.Her heart for music and her love for it is what makes me root for her because you can really tell that she’s putting everything she has into all of her music. and you can see that. Even in the making of “on the ground“ she’s crying at the end of filming and that just shows how much all of this really means to her and how ,even though she’s part of one of the biggest girl groups in the entire world at the end of the day she still just loves the little things.
