Dude, you consistently write these videos with the best possible explanation at least I can think of. I think anybody for the most part with any background could watch a video and relate to the meaning.
A few years ago, at my college, they installed a proxy server. It really sped things up for everyone due to the proxy cache. It might not work for a home or small office network, but it does work for large scale networks. Also, blocking facebook in an office environment, can be a boost in productivity.
I think that blocking Facebook or any other website whatsoever is just nuisance. People will always find a way. Whether that be a mobile network or something else. Also if any external website / service becomes an issue in productivity wise I think blocking them won't really fix the issue and the problem lies somewhere deeper in company culture.
Sir! Where have you been all my life?!🤣 Unlike any other videos I've come across, you are great at explain everything in great detail without overwhelming my brain. Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop a quick note that a proxy, similar to a VPN, can actually enable encrypted transmission. A prime example is a reverse proxy. A reverse proxy acts as an intermediary between a client (like your computer) and a server. When you connect to a website through a reverse proxy, the entire data traffic between you and the reverse proxy gets encrypted. That way, your data stays protected from potential attackers. So yeah, a proxy can totally deliver encrypted transmission, especially a reverse proxy. Just thought I'd share! 🚀
The first thing i do on this channel is to like the video and then start watching it because i know its already gonna best explained with perfect examples ... Love all videos on this channel .. thanks for creating these.
I love how you talk about NordVPN being so secure, when in reality, a couple of months since this video was released, it was announced that a NordVPN's server was breached.
@@Juzimaster Well, a vpn is useful if you want to hide your location, but that encryption thing isn't as useful if the website which you are going through is already encrypted (https websites), but a double encryption is always great.
little inaccuracy: when using a vpn, only the information between you and the vpn server is encrypted, while in the animation, it suggested that the data between you and the webserver was encrypted. A more accurate animation would be your computer, a vpn and the cloud, and a tunnel between you and the vpn and a line between the vpn and the cloud, so basically the animation at 1:23 except a tunnel between your computer and the server, and the server represents a vpn.
He states that the data between the cloud and the proxy server cant be encrypted. Is that true ? I don't see why the proxy isnt able to encrypt this data.

"in pros you are talking about privacy and minute later you said that with activity logging basically everything is being monitored so how can it both private and monitored in same time" answer: private as the website only sees the proxy servers public ip not your computers or device that's using proxy to see the website. Proxy has ability to monitor what websites you used and for how long etc which is how companies see if employees are on Facebook all day. Proxy hides your public ip and sends out theirs and has ability to do activity logging. "you also said that it gives privacy but later you said that it does not encrypt data so everything can be traced by hacker/gov" answer: again proxy hides your public device ip with its own so website etc thinks its the proxy checking it out not you and by encryption means that data can be captured by middle man and seen with plaintext as its not encrypted. So does it make sense to go for proxy server as private user? Or private person should only go for vpn? VPN, Proxy server are good for companies or large organizations for help speed look ups of websites since proxy saves cache of websites and also has activity logging.

If the proxy server keeps web pages in cache, how does it know wether the target web page has changed or not ?
I mean, if it has to ask the target server every time a user requests it, then you get back to basically downloading it everytime.
If it checks only after a certain period of time, let us say, then you risk not being totally in sync with the server.
I believe it caches static data like graphics and does query the target each time for updates. Caching only static data does give performance improvements
