If it's helpful: UTI's are caused by bacteria entering the tube that takes pee out of the body (urethra). For women our tube is shorter so we get it more often then men who have longer urethras. Bacteria can come from the mechanics of sex(bacteria moving around), poor hygiene, not emptying the bladder completely and other causes. Just think about the fact the rectum, the vagina and the urethra are in close proximity, it's very likely that bacteria is moving from one to the other during sex. Peeing after sex may flush out the bacteria and prevent UTI's but won't prevent sexually transmitted diseases(STD's) or pregnancy. ☺️
