And his prononciation is really surprising, especially when compared with other famous actors and actresses of non-Russian origins trying the ass off but eventually failing in speaking Russian. Great job.

Craig is also limited by the fact he doesn’t know how to pronounce the words, or what they mean, just how to speak the phonetics within them. There are plenty of Russians who would comprehend what he was saying well enough, and plenty who would not, just as there are plenty Englishmen who can understand what Geordies are trying to say and plenty more who do not.

0:58 - "October Otriad" - a nice translation of Отряд Октябрь/October Group. The Commander is Major of Artillery, he had to introduce himself as "Major Panchenko" or saying nothing to strangers just met in a forest, if he is a head of a special group. The black (??) fur hats in a summer time look very nice.
There is a lot of mistakes in this scene, for the beginning - "the jews does not fight". There was a lot of Heroes of Sovjet Union (most honorable medal in USSR, made only in battles), jews by nation. A lot of jews was fightin in partizan, in Belorussia and Ukraine. And the second most mistake - Craig cannot make a military salut to the officier, as I understand. And, of course, winter headings in a sommer, it's always a curious mistake. Craig saying in Russian like all the English actors says, with typical accent

The Commander is Major of Artillery, he had to introduce himself as "Major Panchenko" or saying nothing to strangers just met in a forest, if he is a head of a special group. The black (??) fur hats in a summer time look very nice.

As a Russian, I will only say that this scene is very funny.
There is a lot of mistakes in this scene, for the beginning - "the jews does not fight". There was a lot of Heroes of Sovjet Union (most honorable medal in USSR, made only in battles), jews by nation. A lot of jews was fightin in partizan, in Belorussia and Ukraine. And the second most mistake - Craig cannot make a military salut to the officier, as I understand. And, of course, winter headings in a sommer, it's always a curious mistake. Craig saying in Russian like all the English actors says, with typical accent

Я думаю, что на примере того, как иностранцы говорят по русски, можно очень хорошо понять что примерно они слышат когда мы говорим по английски или на другом иностранном языке.
Tariel Chakhov я могу полностью избавиться от русского акцента, уча английский. А вот иностранции не смогут овладеть русским без акцента.
Юра Тебеньков и то зависит от иностранца.
+Tariel Chakhov русским легче говорить на английском с ихним мягким акцентом, чем американцам говорить на жесткой кирилице...но британцам полегче, так как акцент у них более твердый...
