I've had one of these units for about two years, but I always avoid using it because the user manual is so poorly written and hard to follow. This tutorial is awesome -- thank you for doing such a nice job!

the best digital 4 track recorder is Ronald R44. the set up can held 24-192 khz and in 4 channels 24- 96khz. the tascam pd03sd is perfect for recording like cassette and some vinyls.

I have this little guy for maybe over 10 years. It great at reproducing whatever you put into it(good or bad) ha ha. I upgraded after that to the dp_008ex. If someone out there is gonna buy get this one! They are so cheap now and still small with 8 tracks and great quality reverb. For some years now I mainly use the dp_24. I keep my synthesizers, mics, guitar goodies all plugged in which is nice. I just found your video on the styrmon timeline which I recently bought. Nice video and thank you.

THANK YOU! i wasted a bunch of time on a few videos that never did a demo! it sounds good, and i'm thinking of getting one because I'd have to buy too much gear to make a looper that costs the same work. a multitracker WITH MICS makes more sense, and this sounds good enough to play around with unlike a nasty sounding 4 track cassette deck i bought used and regretted in the 90s. hanks for taking time to help us wannabes out.

I bought this just because it was so cheap, lol. But wow, it's actually very good. I come from 4 track cassette in 1981, then Boss BR multitracks, now DAWs mainly, especially Reaper, which is the one I find the most understandable. I had to delete free Cakewalk, because it was a frustrating, convoluted nightmare, lmao. This I use to mix down tracks and then put the result onto a stereo track in a DAW sometimes, if the CPU is getting all spastic and I'm forced to nix some tracks so my computer will stop bawling and snowflaking. Who knew it was hard for a computer to make sounds...I know, freeze tracks, but there's something about doing that which bothers me rotten; it takes several minutes per track to do that. With good outboard EQs and compressors, this small Tascam would be totally usable for any purpose. It's got very clean sound. I have aimed the mics toward a drumkit, and the recording came out astonishingly good. Those built-in mics are good. Then take the old-school way of running the drumkit track into my DAW via the output from the Tascam into the 2 tracks of my interface. This probably seems abominable to most people, but having come from 4 track cassette, doing stuff like that, and bouncing tracks to make room, are completely 2nd-nature to me, I'm used to it.
