Oh Happy Day - The Christmas Revels 2021

"Oh Happy Day" is a beloved 1967 Edwin Hawkins gospel arrangement of the 1755 hymn by clergyman Philip Doddridge. For the 2021 Christmas Revels, Artistic Director Patrick Swanson adapted lines from Susan Cooper's poem, "The Shortest Day", into the gospel piece, sung by Carolyn Saxon and the chorus of The Christmas Revels!

Wonderful! What a good idea putting Susan Cooper's beautiful words into a really great gospel song. That's for us Jews and Unitarians and non believers. We all believe in dearly loving our friends. I've already watched our California Revels, also able to be streamed till 1/5/22. Might just watch your Revels as well. Gorgeous costumes, masks to match. No one will get sick. Bravo!
