Two African Lion Brothers Marking Their Territory & Patrolling Their Area On The S90 Near Olifants Rest Camp
The African Lion (Panthera Leo) is an animal almost every Kruger National Park guest or visitor wants to see. This trip was no different. We were guiding on a birding trip, and we had reached all our targets (in terms of birds), so on the last night our Guest asked nicely, can we see a Lion tomorrow? I said yes, we will do our best, I am decent at tracking and looking out for signals, and knew the roads well in the Olifants region. It was not the best road for bird watching, but I knew there was a bit of a chance we might come across a Lion. Funny enough, we started the morning seeing a lone Woolly-necked Stork and a pair of Greater Painted Snipes, which were not expected at all.
Then it happened, like something out of a movie. We heard a Lion roaring, and we got excited. We were driving the S90 dirt road towards Satara, and drove about 2 kilometres past Bangu waterhole. We then came across 2 male Lions walking down the road. A dream sighting, and of course we were the only car around. We watched the Lions come past us and then turned around and followed them back the two kilometres to Bangu Waterhole. It was the perfect moment on a beautiful trip.
In the background of this video you can hear the roars and animals calls of the African Lion, we have also added some bird calls that were calling in the area when we came across the 2 Lions.

They must have eaten during the previous night... Was such an amazing sight, and to be the only car for an hour or so was beautiful
Beautiful red mane♥️
They were in stunning condition, such a privilege to see!
Who are they?
These are 2 nomads, they do not have a pride from what I have found out...
