Patina look is stupid i don’t care what anyone thinks, if I’m already putting that kinda money in to the paint job it won’t be to make it look rusty, i would want it to look brand new
Your dam rights. I also hate black rims and that ugly murdered out look or them idiots that take white trucks and black out the grille bumpers and rims to make there truck look like it's bottom of the line.

Good stuff... There is 100s of ways to do it. I do it one way that works for me and another guy will call it a hack job...
These guys must be down south....in the northeast we wouldn’t call that truck rusty. I’m used to having nothing to weld to....

Yep.. the "patina" look was hideous before it was "cool'.. It was hideous while it was "cool", and is STILL hideous now. Glad that "fad" is finally over.

Agreed, kindof disappointed to hear that too. The rat rod concept is getting old but this might turn out really sharp

Don't understand spending all that time and money and then just make it look old again . I will be glad when this derelict and patina fad is over . It's fine if it's legitimate and real and a real solid survivor . But faking it is like new Coke or a kit car on a VW chassis . There's nothing like the real thing . It's just a lame pretender .
it's just a style thing its whatever you're into i guess. I've seen some that come out awesome looking and some not so much

with a shop and equipment like that, it makes it easy for anyone to do this work. it's not that easy while lying on your back.

should have epoxy primed the bottom of the cab before rubberizing it.

Same, I have a Chevy c20 that is mechanically sound but needs some help with body work.
2:45 If I had a big replacement floor pan like that, I'd just replace everything that the new floor pan had to offer. There was quite a bit of that reddish orange stuff under that cab, maybe not all the way through, but once it's there, it doesn't like to go away on it's own. 4:45 The same goes with that cab support, ESPECIALLY with it being a relatively small part, as well as a structural support.
WOW!!!!!! 6:30 The floor pan and cab supports were in much worse condition than the core support. You're replacing the entire core support, but putting band-aids on the floor of the cab.

I was cringing watching you cut pipe on the band saw while wearing gloves. In the machinist trade, that is a major no no. The glove can get caught and drag your hand in!

Otis Reading so true, it’s one of those things you could’ve spent half an hour trying to jig up a solution to press up and a simple screw is more than enough!!! This is why I watch TH-cam vids.

For all this welding being done, does anyone think that Flux core would be good enough? Or is MIG welding needed? As I understand, my welder doesn't use gas, so is called wire feed Flux core.. the "gas" is in the wire.
Since MIG stands for "metal inert gas" welding, and I don't technically have gas.
They need too wear Dust Mask. !!!
I would have used a lower cup Sprayer when applying the Rust inhibitor underneath Cab.
