Just a thought - now you've just released this video with new range of boards, is there any chance of another video but this time with an explanation the new cut-out shapes (& compared to the old shapes), perhaps with a few words from your shaper about what the latest changes are trying to do in terms of altering the boards' performance characteristics and how different shape changes affect how a board behaves? Now that I've been wheelchair-bound for over 20 years - and also having just turned 60! - my biggest pleasure (apart from blasting videos!) in windsurfing is the technical side of the sport... how techniques and board/fin/sail design all relate to each other, Having just watched your earlier designing-on-the-beach video, it was frustrating not being able to see the changes and hear the impressions to the sailors. So near, yet so far!!
Hi Mark, thanks a lot for your comment. I love how you are staying connected to the sport. This sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the original (uncensored) footage from that day. I will check again on my hard drives, but I doubt that I'll find anything. Good thing to keep in mind for next time we're filming something like this. Sorry! Happy birthday and all the best ✌️
Got to say Nico you make some good videos, between product knowledge , and cool shots (I liked your creative beach start by the way), you keep us always wanting more! Jp should also be happy with you for giving us some insight into their products. Used to be JP designers gave more insight into the changes on their videos but not so much anymore, and nothing on slalom designs these past 2 or 3 years. So well done. What event do you have coming up? Are any new events being added as 2 venues are out do to the virus?
Thanks, Bob! Really appreciate it. Now PWA France is coming up... I don't think there are any substitute events coming for Asia. Let's hope no more events get cancelled.
Moin Nico wow der Actionpart ist killah der edit die Farben die Blickwinkel die Drohenaufnahmen und der Schnitt sind fantastisch. Einfach nur bildgewaltig. Unboxing ist auch fresh und informativ greez
Looking good, thanks for showing us the brand new boards including all the differences. The new NP sails are also looking pretty good. I hope you'll get them soon. Keep up the good work. :)
Why are the holes for windfoil screws smaller than those on windsurfing boards? Some foils don’t fit these holes. For example, the Starboard mast doesn’t fit, and you have to drill another hole for the back screw, moving it 1.5 cm forward.
Hey Nico 🤙nice Video.the new boards are very cool!!!🏄♂️you can Reserve them for us 😂😂😂Great Video recording!!!and a Great Description of the boards 👍👍🤙
Which material makes up the bulk of the weight in a board? I'd like to see efforts on making the boards lighter. Hollow or hollow nose or use lighter weight foam. Or vary the thickness on the layers on the outside of the board. Make it like airplane wings and have a sticker on the nose or front half of the board that says "no step".
Haha, I like the sticker idea. It's possible to make hollow boards. But the price for boards is already so incredibly high and production of a hollow construction is quite a bit more expensive... so that's the reason I believe.
Nice video as always, thanks for the insights into the cutouts and explaining what the changes do to the board. Which of these volumes would you recommend if one would purchase only one slalom board? +/- 82kg. sailing mostly in avg 18-50kts in the waves. but looking for some slalom action in perhaps 15-16kts-27kts?
@@Nico_GER7 Hi Nico, what sail sizes, Fin sizes would you use with the 71. Regarding Range, what is your low wind limit you use the board with. And what is your weight?
@@Nico_GER7 Thanks a lot for the reply! I'm also curious to Jörg's question, as you are saying 27kts will be the upper limit haha, I'm more curious to the lower wind minimum, what would be a good fit for 15-16kts on relatively choppy water, with the 71? (sail) Or would you recommend looking at a smaller windrange, like 15-21kts? I'm aware the 15-27kts was optimistic😄
Beautiful design and colors Juste a shame that you wont be able to fine tune your 2020 sails before first pwa event ... dunno what went wrong in the produce process 😬
Hello Nico..how are you ?..i have one question plss..i.m intermidiate ryder , 1,89m height and 90 kg weight...should i go for JP slalom 71 or 85 size??? Thank you for your answer :)
depends on the size of the board, wind and conditions. but in perfect conditions you can go up to 35knots on the bigger ones and around 40knots on the smaller ones.
Do you think we have reached, or are close to reaching peak design? Many of the new designs, not just with JP, are very little changed, and in many cases not changed at all except for graphic design. If so, it must out board shapers in a difficult position where they'll find it difficult to convince the public they need to upgrade.
That's a good question. I also feel like development is slowing down. On the other hand the sport keeps developing and so is the demand on the gear. The Foilboards are still seeing a lot of development and now that the foil is killing the slalom boards in light wind, this will also affect the development of the slalom boards.

Geil, danke! Freut mich, dass es Dir gefällt.
Loved the Pistols&Prayers (by K.Sparks) segment! "The crowd goes crazy, crowd goes crazy!" Excellent footage and editing!
Großartig! Schade, dass die neuen Segel noch nicht am Start sind. Die sehen dieses Jahr wieder richtig toll aus
Stimmt, finde die Farben auch mega.

Thanks, Pietje! So looking forward to those sails ⛵️
Amazing video
yeah🤙🏼
Nice, I like the new colors
yeah, they're really nice!

what sail sizes do you use on which boards, please?

Endlich!!
Looks great! Any changes to the volume? How big are they?
Why does the foil board not have the
double screw footstraps?
Because there is as so much force on them as there is with the slalom boards, so there is no need for it.
Why you changed to starboard on board?
Sehr schick! Und schnell sollten sie bei dem Fahrer ja auch sein. Danke für die Erklärungen

Hi Bo, I think the 71 is the one for you. 27 knots is gonna be on the limit 😄 but you're asking for a big range.

4:33 passend dazu habe ich auch Like Nummer 001 geliefert!
Beautiful design and colors

Yeah that's true. No time for tuning up :-(
Look at all those kite surfers in the background, hundreds of them. Windsurf is for the real sailors.
Hello Nico..how are you ?..i have one question plss..i.m intermidiate ryder , 1,89m height and 90 kg weight...should i go for JP slalom 71 or 85 size??? Thank you for your answer :)
Da kann ich ja mit meiner Haustür surfen gehen:)
😁😁😁
Wv Liter haben die Boards?
And the 62?
Hello? I weigh 70kg. Please recommend 3 board size and sale size...
How fast do you estimate you sail on a board like this? Just curios :)
depends on the size of the board, wind and conditions. but in perfect conditions you can go up to 35knots on the bigger ones and around 40knots on the smaller ones.
What foil size (wing, fuselage) are you guys using for slalom?
Currently I'm using the Neilpryde S size. The Frontwing is 78cm wide and the fuselage shorter than a meter...
How did you get your jp australia hacker?
Hacker?
How did you get your jacket* sorry
I made it myself 😜
Had my first 'Fritz' in Warszawa today. Just saying...
Yeahhh man, how was it?
Best Kola evah! But no substitute for windsurfing! :D
@@ladu6ladu625 Agreed on both!
Does JP offer the suitable wetsuits in pink? :p
Wait for it 😉😉

Look at the soccer ball, the shape is the same, yet everyone still buys the new one...
musik ?
What about it?
Auch in rot! Wie Mario.
Erster XD
Cooler Typ!
