In what should be talked about all year in the Fight of the Year conversations, Kim Clavel lost her WBC belt, in a unification fight against WBA champion Jessica Plata. Clavel taking a massive challenge in this one and comes out on the better end because of it, even with a loss. But of course, in front of her hometown crowd, this one is emotional post-fight press conference.

She never fought a top opponent like Jessica so it was expected, this is what happens when you protect and hype up your boxer too much.

You couldn't be more wrong than that. She wasn't protected at all. She was coming back from a huge win against the champion Yesenia Gomez. Then they immediately put her in front of another champion, and that's the entire opposite of being protected. Also, it happens many times to see boxers losing a fight. That automatically means the boxer who was defeated lost cuz he she was protected before ? That's the excuse casuals give every time. She just faced a better boxer that night. That being said, the fight was very close and is already considered as a potential fight of the year contender. " This is what happens " you speak like she was dominated...
