That is a great way to break your straps or bend the lounge on your dolly. How do you expect to make tight turns? When I bought my tow dolly, it explicitly said not to ever do what you are doing because of stress on the dolly and improper weight distribution. And you should use tow lights and safety chains.
Thanks for this helpful video I’m looking to buy a 3.8 genesis out of province and was worried I’d have to get the driveshaft disconnected but this looks like a way better option
Good video. Just remember this type of setup is okay for towing short distances and preferably not at highway speeds. Ideal for getting the car home or to a shop when only a few miles away. Also, add safety chains for another layer of safety. Happy towing!!!!
Thanks for the upload. I'm planning a cross country move and a tow dolly is part of it. Gonna be pulling a 2001 SLK320 with a 6sp manual trans. Definitely wanna save my drive train any stress... 3,000 miles man. I'm not doing this tomorrow morning or whatever but soon enough. Also, man that isnt a project, thats a toomb @ dead BMW lol
@Rollieadventures haven't started it yet. Quite a bit of prep first. Gotta sell home. Could be a while but yes that's exactly the way I'm going to pull it. Thanks for asking.
I’m towing for about 2,000 miles but kinda nervous to do so… I got a dolly and gonna pull a 2012 Chrysler 300 RWD… what do you recommend? Thinking of just getting a trailer and lifting all four
Does it feel sketchy with the heavy weight that far back? I keep seeing vids where they say if u have the heavy part far back it will create speed wobbles all easy... im trying to tow a rwd car to another state, but a full flatbed will be to heavy for my tow vehicle, so just trying to figure out if i can use the dolly or if i should just rent a full size truck to tow the flatbed
@@Elite_Employee wheels on the ground need to stay strait the dolly is the steer tires now ,wheels have to be unlocked if you are towing with all 4 on the ground like with a tow bar
I've been planning for weeks to move my Lincoln LS! It is rear-wheel drive, I do believe I will just drive it now. And I'll have to fly back and get my other vehicle.
You should never tow a vehicle backwards on a tow dolly. Every manufacturer strongly warns against towing backwards. The weight distribution can lead to catastrophic outcomes at highway speeds. Do your research before you attempt this. BE SAFE! 🥸

Yes I agree that’s why we only did it for a short distance,I wouldn’t recommend long haul

Yes for 2000 miles I would definitely recommend a full size trailer
Where u get that tow dolly from. Im in a loud space watching
can you tow a rwd vehicle like this on a freeway? for about 100 miles?

As long as it tight on the dolly and your not speeding you should be fine
dont depend on the wheel lock i seen them jump still need to tie the wheel
never mind see you did tie it
I don’t get why you wouldn’t want the steering wheel to be not locked . How else would the car turn along with the towing car without dragging?

Will this method work for a 2020 RWD Automatic Jeep Grand Cherokee? Planning a cross country trip, towing with an RV.
It should work but I wouldn’t take it across country like this
Neutral is fine for a stick.
Post mode of ur 4th gen !!!!
Bet I got you!
Tug of war !!!!
Definitely want to make that happen lol!
