As a Lofi producer with 35 k monthly listeners I really took this video in. He's right, just make something to catch people's attention and get organic likes and listeners. Maybe make some skits or something, how many videos come out every day of someone just making a beat or how they made the beat or just some cover art with the beat playing. Gotta go harder. Also this encourages me to just release the music. Let's drop once a week!

Looking at content objectively is probably the hardest thing to do but it makes so much sense. It can be challenging to focus solely on the art and the brand he's right. Its so important to prioritize the listener.
The strategy of promoting playlists instead of the beats is exactly what I’ve done since 2020 and I was very successful with that (I’ve ended up also making my own lofi label Sleep Tales in the process). There is only a few things to have in mind about that, to not rely only on that and make it also healthy in the long run :)

13:50 on that note of avoiding spotify because of the pay wall, I've heard that free spotify user's streams actually pay out more per stream, because the free customers have to listen to the ads frequently, and that ultimately makes Spotify more money per stream than premium customers do, so the free user's streams pay out more.

I’ve been doing that playlist move he’s been talking about for years. When people ask about my lofi stuff I send em to “All My Lofi” so they can listen to every lofi beat I ever released and then they can shuffle it. Only 6 followers on it so far but it’s the most streamed playlist I’ve ever been on and it’s not close because the math is strong
How much revenue are you seeing from that?
I'm not pulling in crazy streaming numbers but I've earned over $150 from my music via Spotify so far. That playlist has thousands of streams so far so it's at least partially responsible for what I've received

yo man, i know this question is kind of separate from the video, but i’ve been trying to update my artist platforms to look the way i want, and youtube is one of them, and i know when you release music their music will actually show up on that persons TH-cam channel, same for you, your music shows up on you channel as supposed to me, is that because you have a larger following or did you apply for that somehow?

Promoting playlists is smart, you could even use other peoples' music to hook listeners into the playlist, then sneak your songs in at position #2 #3 etc. 🤣
If I’m going to see music making just as a business with no art, I’d rather do a brick and mortar business instead.
I don' get it 1 000 000 streams : 1 song streamed 1 000 000 time is not equal to 100 songs streamed 350 times, nor 5 songs streamed 33 000 times 🤔

It's 1 song streamed 33k times a day is equal to 1 million streams per month, and 100 songs streamed 350 times a day is equal to 1 million streams per month.
He's saying it's easier for you to release 100 songs that each get 350 streams per day than trying to make 1 song that gets 33k streams per day.

I think people need to STOP ✋🏾 putting information out that Doesn't work for Everybody other than themselves. Because everyone Niche or style isn't going to be the same step by step HOW TO GUIDE to success. Because it's always going to be info based off of someone else's experience, in how they've done it versus how it could actually be executed 💯

Yeah I messed the math up right here - it was those five songs have to total 33k streams a day. They each have to do 6.5k a day each or somethin like that
