I LOVE riding trains. When I lived in Europe, it was my preferred mode of transportation. I got to know so many fantastic and incredibly generous people! Sometimes it seemed that the poorer the people were, the more giving they were...of their belongings and their hearts. I'm getting bit old in the tooth, so I think my travels to Central Asia will have to be through you, but if I was just 20 years younger, you would probably meet me somewhere along the road. I am a wanderer at heart. I firmly personify the Tolkien quote: "Not all who wander are lost." As a matter of fact, I am in the beginning stages of planning to buy a trailer and become a "nomad" here in the western USA. I have traveled (and lived) all over the world, so I know what to expect and I CAN'T WAIT! If I were to choose places to go in Central Asia, the more local, the better. I would avoid the metropolitan centers and concentrate on places that hark back to the "-Stans" of old and the Silk Road. That would be a dream trip. Enjoy your travels. I'm a bit envious.
Thank you so much, Robert! So lovely to read your comment. Good luck in your nomad journey! Share more of your journey and would love to read what you'll learn along the way. There's a fantastic Facebook Group called "Overland to Asia": facebook.com/groups/510330665669757/ if you even want to research on driving along the Stans with your future trailer. Best wishes 😊
Hi, my dream is to ride the train from east to west of USA, I know there is a one there. But first i’ d be gone for a long trip across the Europe. I am from Kazakhstan, western part.
Very fascinating train ride, indeed. Your videos, experiences, and commentaries makes an interesting resource for Tourism and Travel Geography especially border crossing requirements, procedures, and language requirements. Any tourist intending to travel to central Asia can get a lot of tips from your vlogs. Central Asia is very large, beautiful, and with charming people as can be gleaned from this episode. Tourism is a good way to promote global cultural understanding and travelers and content creators/ vloggers like you and others just like your new Taiwanese friend are in the forefront. Again, thank you for bringing us to Central Asia. Keep on and keep safe!
Thank you, Romy! Central Asia is such a huge continent that all of my videos only serves as a glimpse of what the countries and people look like. I barely scratched the surface and I think it deserves more traction. Thanks for watching!
Hi syifa. Thanks for the video.Nice scenery with beautiful train ride. The footage quite fascinating. Am waiting more video from you at Tajikistan. Take care syifa. Bye
Loved it, both your video as well as the experiences we enjoy in the train (most amazing mode to travel). Lots of love always, Syifa. Keep on growing. 💙
Hi Syifa, thanks for this view of travel in Central Asia. I like going by train too - it's so relaxed. These 3rd class open compartments look so sociable - good choice! Looking forward to your adventures in Tajikistan!
Thanks a lot, Diz! I love a good train journey as it forces you to be still and observe. Did you manage to go to Tajikistan during your work tour in the past?
Thank you so much! A couple of videos from now would be from the countryside of Tajikistan. I didn't have a lot of time traveling Tajikistan but would hope to return some day in the future.
Always love to watch ure videos. I am amazed at how strong u are as u can go thru the journey with all the red tapes by the borders securities ALONE!!. Respect and Hats off to you. Take care wherever you are now. Assalam.
That episode of Central Asia is the most funny one I've watched, I love every footage that you had took and the train conductors looked so friendly and respectful, unlike some people which I think you know whom am I talking about. The immigration officers not as much, I get that they are checking everywhere including your items because to be sure that nothing suspicious is inside, but checking your phone to me that is not just invasive, but also disrespectful because like you said it's personal stuff. I will feel weird if that happens to me if I travel to Central Asia. But overall, I love this video and I hope that you upload more videos in Tajikistan.
Hahaha thanks a lot, Emanuel. So glad to know that you found this video to be funny. The Tajik staff were indeed quite comical so it helps me to get through the 18 hour journey. I agree with you, checking through my bags would be fine but checking my phone twice going through my photos was very disrespectful. When such a thing happen, I would always try to remain calm, not to make a scence but won't allow any officer to bully me. Thanks for watching!
You are not an ordinary Travel TH-camr slash Vlogger, it's a universe beyond all of the others... the best so far, really immersive I can feel the anxiety and the joy sparks from her eyes... LOve every single videos uploaded here... cheers from Milan, kapan kalau stop by in Milan would be nice to see an episode (or more even better)
Perhaps in my lifetime i cant be in this places you had been to Syifa, thank you for showing us what central asia looked like in the post soviet time, the people and their ways of life.

It is indeed! it reminds me of the Persian Rugs I've seen all around when I travelled to Iran in 2018. The Tajiks and Iranians share a similar Persian heritage. Thank you for watching!
Your Train Journey reminds of my journey from Mumbai (Bombay) Maharashtra State to Chennai (Madras) Southern India in Indian Railway with family.. We travel in Second Air Conditioned Class Compartment in Indian Railway, world's biggest net work. Most of the time is spent on watching mobile and seeing Social Media posts . There is a Pantry Car (Running Canteen) in a separate compartment from where tea coffee snacks are prepared and sold at a price to all passengers in whole train from one end to another end. The co passengers are from different language speakers either Hindi or any southern Indian language. The friendship ends at destination station. But in your train journey from country to another country where immigration officer comes for checking is very interesting. Natarajan from Mumbai India
7:55 Lol, interesting complaiment when the internet speed in Indonesia is slower than in Uzbekistan. The mobile internet in Indonesia is almost like in Uzbekistan(lil bit slower), the fixed internet is 2x time slower. Very Funny!)

I was wondering whether the border guards were looking at the phones to find an "issue" so that they could issue some kind of fine - a way to boost their no-doubt small salaries? I thought the train personel were going to be an issue for you, but they seemed genuinely friendly. Great video!
Yes, I was wondering that too! This phone check was supposedly an old Soviet practice that would no longer happen if you enter or leave Uzbekistan from Tashkent airport. The Tajik staff was indeed lovely and they remind me of the Iranian as they are both Persian. Thanks a lot for watching!
