Ah it reminds me of flying around and building a minecart commuter network between a bunch of villages on an overworld superflat. Those were the good old days.
This is just me but since Taswell is a song about the loss of a friend (Ryan Davis), I assumed the first half was a memorial and the second half was a celebration of life
Even though most people would agree that the second half is more enjoyable, the first half was not meant to be nothing and was not just C418 not caring about it. Soundtrack music often has minutes of nothing but ambiance sounds and even silence to set the mood for the coming awesomeness. This is by far my favorite track on this album, and that is WITH the beginning with its silence and very slow buildup.
I actually don't have any issues with the first half, I just know a good chunk of people find the music to be too quiet or creepy, although more people just find it too quiet than creepy. I think it's fine the way it is lol
every Minecraft song is really nostalgic but this is the only song in the ost that literally makes me wanna cry this shit bringing back memories like it’s ptsd
i love how i clicked it and it just immediately hits also i see alot of people saying the first half isnt anything or its not good but i disagree. truly listen to it, the noises, the ambient sounds and especially the bass..trust me youll see what i mean
This song is the perfect mix of old and new Minecraft, you can hear the background synth of the jukebox songs while there’s all these new melodies and soothing tones
Those pictures are all of an MC world a friend and I worked on in the middle of high school in 2014 (sophomore year). That neighborhood at the end was made by someone else however :)
No way hearing all this 10 years later just brings nostalgia to me, I remember playing in creative mode all the building the craziest stuff around 2015/2016
I remember 8 year old me making a last minute Mother’s Day present on Minecraft and accidentally flooding it. I watched it blow up and cried while this track played in the background. My mom came and said it was okay and that it was the thought that counts, I’ll always think of that when I listen to this song.
the first half consisting of only ambience noises actuall did a fairly good job building up to this super calming and charming and all that second half, it's really worth the wait, Taswell is probably one of the only tracks composed by C418 that make me feel more at ease and relaxed rather than just feeling bad and nostalgic about what has happened once may never happen again.
certitude, along with the more known tracks such as strad or stal, they’re my life savers from all this nostalgia trying to drown me in sadness, I swear these tracks they have a very special place in me
This is why Taswell is one of my favorite C418 music in Minecraft because this brings me so many memories in building a house with my friends 5-6 years ago
i remember i used to have a world where i remade all the village houses and added new features, and i'd spent a year working on it. there was such dedication and care given to it and whenever i would load into it, this track used to play. now 6 years later, i like to close my eyes and imagine myself in that world, reliving all the nostalgia of that paradise. i miss my childhood days, where i didnt have to worry about adult nonsense. this song makes me cry.
Most likely won’t as Microsoft probably don’t want to split movie profits with C418 who has the rights. The movie doesn’t seem like a banger anyway so I’m not that sad about it.
When I first started playing Minecraft, the music was really quiet on my Nintendo Switch Console, so for a few months I didn't even know the first half existed. After a little bit I could hear the last part of the first half, though. It's just crazy how many things about C418's songs you can't hear with the volume so low that you're basically listening to a different song when you hear it louder.
If this isn’t played at my funeral, I’m not dying ( For real, this song sounds like it is the end of everything. I love it that way. It’s my childhood, and I want to remember all those memories when I pass on. )
I have a ton of memories of playing Minecraft on my cousins WiiU and always being in creative mode and hearing this. It always made me happy, and hearing it now brings back those memories, the ones where I built houses for fun, and blow up a ton of stuff. It brings a good feeling into me.
I got the best vibe from the second half when exploring the jungle, seeing the cute pandas and ocelots, to hearing my minecraft parrot mimic nearby mobs. These are one of the songs that actually make me happy.
while the volume alpha tracks give me a lot of nostalgia for my old house, the volume beta tracks give me a lot of nostalgia for my grandmother's old house. i think the reason why is because she had a laptop that we were able to buy minecraft on and i played creative mode a lot on that. i remember always trying to figure out how to summon mobs from mods. man those were the good days.
What i listen to when i want to have a good cry. Not even joking, this is what I listened to the days when i just needed to cry, and it helped so much. I still do that.
