Classic winter estuary fishing catching Cob, Garrick and Shad

Early winter in the Eastern Cape provides great weather and good river fishing. Pretty soon the water will get ice cold and the majority of fish species migrate north with the huge shoals of sardines that are swimming past on their way to Natal. We manage to get one last session in our hometown estuary with great fish action, catching Cob, Garrick and Shad.
Next up we will focus on the inshore coastal area which comes alive due to the 'greatest shoal on earth' (sardines) which attract a variety of game fish.

What conditions made you fish on this day? Like the wind, pressure, temperature and all those factors. I have spent a lot of time on that river while rowing during school, and I’ve recently gotten into fishing. I would love to give this a shot one day.

hi, the fish are always in there in summer but feed particularly well when the sea is cold with a strong moving tide
